How to Pike - 08-27-2009, 02:34 AM

As a text guide i will repeat what is said in the video
Requirements: Nike Kick and at least a 2 second handstand.

REMINDER: you dont need to master or even have a decent handstand for a pike but if you do, that would be somewhat of an advantage. Same with 1 handed handstand stall, you dont need to know it.

So the pike is basically a nike kick except you're basically trying to kick your face. You want your hips to face towards the sky/ceiling at the climax of your kick up into a handstand. At that point, you turn your hips pike your legs and lock them. Simple as that. If you want to land it cleanly, as soon as you feel yourself falling kick out so that you feel that small kip up[chinese get up] motion. you should be on your toes and feel free to start out some footwork
Hope this helped.

I think the part in which you stated 'how to fall" was especially useful, do you apply the same technique for learning nikes?

For nikes, you turn your hips toward the side so its sort of like a cartwheel motion with 1 hand. ill make a guide on this later on when i find my lost memory card >.>
