LOL, well Im still alive after watching the how 2 bboy DVD, so I guess watching vids isn't that bad for your health.
On one side I agree with y'all here, bboying shouldn't get mainstream because the quality of the bboy's will get VERY low. Think about all the front indian step --> 6step --> taking a cool pose after a not so cool combo bboys we'll get. On the other side, if bboying gets more popular, it certainly has avantages. Here in the Netherlands it's not so popular and im dieing to meet some other bboys(in USA and Korea you don't have this problem though) Also there will be more music artists creating music just for the bboy scene. |

whole concept is whack. having a teacher isnt right, you mean kids are paying to be bboys? that sucks, what happened to blood, sweat and tears? where is the originality if everyone learns this thing in steps? this is sad, especially when peeps are wishin a school would open by them.
hip hop should always stay underground. because, let's face, most people are complete dumbasses. they'll get into bboying without ever having a passion for it and turn out wack. and the last thing you want is a shitload of wack poser bboys. bboying isn't for everyone...it's for people who love it.
anyways, it IS well-known. it's all over the world.
|

k, as offensively as i can say this: everyone so far has been worse then the posers.
i'll even tell you why right now: lets start with what VP said. cause he's always right? cause he's a bboy.org god. "hip hop should always stay underground. because, let's face, most people are complete dumbasses. they'll get into bboying without ever having a passion for it and turn out wack. and the last thing you want is a shitload of wack poser bboys. bboying isn't for everyone...it's for people who love it. anyways, it IS well-known. it's all over the world." ->rofl. if you feel that way about underground so strongly, why the fuck do you mod a public bboy site? real underground bud. and secondly, i know i'm not the only bboy that got into bboyin' for the wrong reasons, 'lookin cool' / impressin' people. i want you to show me one person who got into the dance for expression over impression. like you? bullshit. i don't believe anyone got into cause they solely wanted to express themselves, and if you knew anything about people, it isnt in our nature to just do something for the sakes of doing it. oh i'm sure there are people who loved dancing before and thought this outlet could be for them, but like not many, not from our generation or the last few anyways. shit half of the people on this site are under 18 and they are talkin bout how they rep and know bboy culture and when infact they know shit. if the posers exist, then it most certainly is our generation of bboys, and it's most certainly most of you fucks who talk down to new people who want to learn. and vp, i'd like to point out the logical flaw of that the passion and who bboyin isnt for everyone argument. the gist of what you and some one else said was that bboyin isn't for people who don't love it. you didn't directly state this, but somoene else did, but you basically said you shouldn't bboy unless you already love it. and my question is, how the fuck can you love something you haven't done before? "YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO BE A BBOY IF IT IS YOUR PASSION", something like that? well how can it become a passion if fuckers like you tell people that they are just being posers and they never develop or train their abilities because people make them feel like they shouldn't be doing it? fucking dumb argument. next bboy yen: "I cringed everytime I heard the word "breakdance" and I cringed everytime I heard the word "handstand" and the word "physically fit". This is wack man, "ur not supposed to watch videos to learn" blah blah blah, wat about that circle of fire dude, wen he first started he was only watching that beat street battle and then he and his friend would practice. And lifting weights? lol, its easier to develop the necessary strength by doing the move." you can tell someone thinks they know their shit when they say "ITS NOT FUCKING BREAKDANCING, IT'S BBOYIN/BREAKIN" (and yes you can say breaking). well i have a question, why the fuck did you become a bboy? to talk shit? or to dance? breakdancing, bboyin, breakin, are all just fucking labels. get a life if you think that people need to be straight up on the lingo. why the fuck does it matter? you dance to express, not talk to impress right? for fucks sake this is the most annoying thing on the site. fuck the new and vets who think that labels should be stressed over the dance. your turn lunchead: "whole concept is whack. having a teacher isnt right, you mean kids are paying to be bboys? that sucks, what happened to blood, sweat and tears? where is the originality if everyone learns this thing in steps? this is sad, especially when peeps are wishin a school would open by them." what the fuck is the difference between a school and a site? so what, you don't pay for this site. big difference, it's all just learning. the forums are a subsitute for the teachers, so are you saying we should remove the moves guide? isn't a teacher just a venue by which you learn moves? regardless of teachers or sites, all people learn that later on you can't just steal style whether it's from someone you're paying, someone from a vid, or in a tutorial. there's nothing wrong with hoping for some hands on assistance if you can get it, whether or not it's from a school or a site. what you don't realize is that just because you have a teacher doesn't mean you aren't busting your ass, cause even though i've never taken classes, i know its not just "heres the 6 step, oh good job, heres a cookie". if there was any problems with attending a school for bboyin then you better get your ass off this site before you become a 'wack ass poser bboy', cause guess what, i'm sure you've checked the forums and according to you, that stifles originality. ill finish this off soon. |

Well, you do have a point phirak.I mean, it's like being in the culinary field, you have people to brag about being a chef but don't know the first thing about being a chef or the culture in general and you do have certain people who brag about being a chef and can back it up, i am proud to be showoff, i love showing off what i learnt in school. A school would be great in my opinion, reason, i will use my culinary school as a example, you see, in this culinary college(Le Cordon Bleu) they teach you the basics, and by having someone over your shoulder to GUIDE you to what you are doing wrong or right, makes the difference between learning how to fine brunoise a carrot in two years and learning how to fine brunoise a carrot in 6 years, for the bboying learning how to do hollowback in 3 months and learning how to do it in 2hours from someone who mastered it .The reason why i agree with a shool is because, if you are doing a move by yourself and learning by yourself you don't know really where you are suppose to land, what part of the hand to do 1990's on, you would take alot longer to learn the move as oppose to someone who has mastered that move and knows how it is suppose to be executed. You can learn it by a video guide but it would take you longer and in life time is off the essence.

I know a man whos been breaking for about 7 years and he learned off the streets, and he teaches class in a studio, the studio is a dance collective so he works for himself. So no1 can stop him from teaching airflaires.
I dont want to give out his # he migh t get pissed. So all ill say is its in D.C. on wisconson avenue and google dc dance collective and find break dance. They lso have popping and locking teachers (good ones) ao if ur interested..... ![]() |

You know I was curious to see if they ahd something like this in Korea or something. Those guys are hardcore.
That is incredible. I don't like how the guy discourages from doing the moves outside of his gym though. Thousands of bboys learn airflares with 2 buddies in the park. I wonder what moves you have to do to get to gold level. I want to visit this place before I die. |

Ha breakin for clothes? Lol. Once I saw what I thought was a guy getting jumped and his shoes stolen, but it turns out that really he had lost a game of cards (I assume they played for his shoes), and didn't wanna pay up. I guess thats kinda related...nobody got arrested though.
