Crunches and Turtle Position - 04-23-2004, 02:20 PM

Hey I'm 13, am 5 ft 8 and weigh 120 pounds. I'm doing OK and have a developing six pack. I've been tryin to do crunches but after about 20 or more my neck starts to ache. Is this just something I have to stop for or am I doing it wrong?

Also what's the turtle position because I've heard it's quite useful as well.

wow finally someone my size and weight. haha im 5'8" 122 pounds at 18 years

for one, you shouldnt do crunches/situps/ab work with your hands behind your head. this always leads to neck and upper back problems. if you aren't do this then perhaps you should do some neck strengthening.. the best way to do this is to use natural resistance with your arms cause with weights its really dangerous.

and the turtle position is like a fake planche with your elbows in your gut.
