well, im thinking prolly your arms (all the muscles in yer arms) cause you use it in flares, 6 steps, turtles, jackhammers, windmills, various freezes, etc.
i mean yeah, you do need yer ab muscles to do most balance and shit, but your arms are prolly the main limb you use in breakdancing.....im not saying the others are usless, im just saying they're the MAIN. |

Most likely your tri-cepts, and shoulder/petorial muscles, I'd say they factor in for about 80% of the moves most people can do

Hm, it seems all muscle groups get used... buuuuuuut... see if you can top this group:
HAND MUSCLES No matter what, your hands are always being used in some way... whether it's during combos, sets, or even during uprock and toprock... hands are always in motion. And yes, there are muscles in your hands... But the question is... how much do you flex them? Quite alot actually... plant your hand on the ground, do you feel some tention near the base of your thumb? HEHEHEHE! Engyn. |

Yeah, but... you don't really need to work out your hands to be an effective dancer... LOL, it was just a joke.
To me, the most used muscles during bboying, and even dancing... is your lower back muscles. This region is part of your supporting trunk... and whether it's being used by stabilizing your hips during flares or balancing your body during toprocks, the lower back muscles are used constantly. The back in general is a crucial group to work on to enhance your dancing prowess. There are many workouts that involve (though not all focus) your lowerback. Maybe I should say your lower torso is the most used group? Anyhow, situps, leg lifts, crunches, reverse body lifts, squats, clings... all help your torso region become stronger. Engyn. |

trieseps -

i think its more trieseps then upper deltas , however the sopination and pronation and other wrist muscles are the most muscles in contact with the floor so... any other muscles are just sopport for your body, or balance...
