knee pain - 11-12-2003, 10:45 PM

im new to breakdancing and im learning coffeegrinders, but in the first part where you crouch on your foot with your hands in front of you and your other leg sticking out in front of you, my knee hurts from that position on my crouching leg. do i keep my foot flat on the ground when i crouch on it or am i in the wrong position? what can i do to remedy this knee pain (if anything)?

Find a way to crouch where it seems comfortable. Sometimes I find if I stop trying something that hurts for a few days the pain will go away and never come back. If it hurts when you crouch down you gotta change your feet or put more weight on your hands. It doesn't matter if your foot is flat on the ground or up on its toes. Do what works best for you.

Vin Diesel and the Internet - relation? I THINK SO

Vin Diesel invented the internet while trying to steal cable TV.

Contrary to popular belief, it was in fact Vin Diesel who invented the internet. Al Gore stole the designs when Vin fell asleep at his keyboard.

icing it will help , for sure
before you practice, put your hands on both knees and apply pressure to the kneecaps while you bend them , so that your hands are resisting the movement of your knees

now circle your knees like that - pressing them in to your hands and pressing your hands in to them - that'll help to warm up the ligaments

you have a lotof muscles in yoru thighs and also in your calf , but around th eknees it's mainly ligaments- these are different than muscles and not as reslilient, so you want to take care of them. you CAN develop flexibility in your knees but it's not an overnight thing and pushing it can really fuck you up . YOU might want to consider getting a cloth brace from a pharmacy and using that for a while just for extra support

also try stretches where you've got one leg out in front of you ( sitting ) and the other one bent behind you , that's good for working out the ligaments

you must have been a bgirl.... because the only moves that you pulled on me were heartbreakers
