Any tips for shoulder glide? -
01-16-2008, 07:30 AM
I saw bboy baek use it against born. whats the best way to avoid friction when using the shoulder glide? is there a gliding point? don't use head? Straight or bent arm? Any tips would be appreciated =]

it's a shoulder glide, not headglide so glide on your shoulder. Someone told me to use an elbow pad once, to make it my arm smoother, but I don't see a point in that, since you're using your shoulder to glide not your elbow, but you can try it if you want.
O and I glide on a straight arm not bend, actually never tried bent before. |

He's actually talking about the spin lol. You might too, I don't know, but a shoulder spin is what Baek uses. Physicx uses shoulder glides (after his gainer).

Yeah thats the battle i was talking about ^^^. Seems like he uses a bent arm. I'll try both as see which is better. The only problem is the friction. Either you need a tonne of momentum or i don't have the right technique, or maybe im just using sticky clothes

make sure your shoulder freeze is really strong first
my arm is bent wen i do this and im sliding on my bicep n shoulder, i think my head may touch aswell go from a crouched position and push forward with your legs whilst going into a shoulder freeze once you can do that and still hold the freeze, start pushing harder i usually take a step in before i do it now n i can slide about 8ft or sumthin which isnt bad |

it is tough.
Do u think it's better to learn the shoulder spin first or the shoudler glide? |

depends what you want to learn, shoulder glides are cool in battles, you just glide in front of them and then you open out with your set.
but the ultimate decision is yours. |

indignant d.n.a. XD
physcix does BOTH. sometimes he does headglide sometimes shoulder glide. anyway. common sense about the shoulderglide: don't glide with your back facing the direction you're gliding in. or else you'll roll over. obviously. and you should kick off with your feet and quickly swing your feet to the other direction for momentum. |

wow cool pic Kaooo....wish u were the girl in the pic....lmao...jokes hehe.....
well back to the thread.......lol I do it these way........go to a shoulder freeze.......push the ground with one hand and go sideways........that's a start....... then try headstand......to shoulder freeze and try the same......(this is the position I am in.......after that I'll just try doing it all fast and use the tech used in headslides, i.e. kicking back on landing)...... \m/. .\m/ |
