Handstand Tips - 08-24-2005, 11:59 AM

i need some handstand tips, i can do one for a short while

i never fall onto my back, i always land back on my feet where i started, what does this mean???

do i need to build any muscles up?

get your back straighter or arch it, because your back is what balances all of your leg wieght.

i've never tried arching it, when i handstand, i have my legs vertical

you never fall on your back because you don't push up enough. if you want to hold your handstands longer you must do angle of 90 degrees between floor and your body. You can arch your back if you don't have enough balance...

i was reading a post on a differant thread, and it said that if you're falling forward (on your back) you push with your fingers and if you're falling back (back to were you started) you push with your palms, i can push with my fingers but nothing happens when i push with my palms

i wouldnt say push with your palms but more like lift your fingers to sway a wieght transfer backwards. hard to explain and im deffinitly no master but i m trying

also you might try a different hand position like fingers pointing outward, or inward. its different for different people because then you can use your pinkies or thumbs to push
