handstand a lifelong skill after perfection? - 06-24-2005, 09:25 PM

anyone know if handstanding might be a lifelong skill(like riding a bike) after you perfect it?

i'm pretty sure it is. i can't imagine not being able to do a handstand, even when i'm like 30-something years old.

well, when i was little i was a gymnast for about 5 years, stopped for 3 and couldn't do anything, tried getting back into but, just couldnt find a good school at that point. started doing martial arts at that point. Got handstands back after several months of that, stopped taking classes when i came to college and lost it again. I've been retraining myself since i started breakin, but I think its deffinatly a skill you can loose.

when i was still in martial arts i could walk accross a room on my hands, slowly or quickly. so its not like i just never had a good hang of it.

edit, lol spelt collage with an s?

When would be a time we have to go on our hands if there was an emergency anyways? I can't really think of anything handstands will help at all. Maybe if you wanna bust out when you're like 70 years old.. maybe..

practice makes perfect? no no no.... PERFECT practice makes perfect

practice it correctly

lol...cant imagine a 70 year old guy bustin a 90's! hehehehe! well...its a skill you can really lose...im not assuming that well completely lost...its just that...after a long time of not getting used to handstands you'll lose the feel of it for a lil' while...then after that lil' while...its just gonna be there...you can do it again and all...peace

a 72 year old kenyan killed a leopard with his bare hands just about a month ago, it was on the news. bboying looks small in comparison, i dont see why a 70 year old woudnt be able to break
