Never use a wall, WALLS are for losers. combos you can do when your falling down are.....
Go into foot work.
Go into bridge then into a hollow.
Fall onto your back and into a kip up.
Go into a FHS.
Go into a BHS.
And their all some other tadbits i did not mention.
Ok Peeps use the SEARCH! Fuction before you make a thread.

manhy's confusing..using the wall is okay...its just some time waster in your room where you dont have anything to do then just stay on the wall to strenghten up your hands...when u practice...just do it and if u r falling ...WALK.....important to get back ur balance..thats all...

It's okay to use walls if you're trying to get some shoulder flexibility on hollowbacks, but I dont think you should use it practicing handstands.
I never used a wall when I practiced. Practicing handstands was a habit that I'd do all the time while i'm waiting for someone or something. You can imagine how many times i practiced a day.
All you need is a lot of practice. Move around and concentrate on keeping balance, and keep breathing.
practice makes perfect? no no no.... PERFECT practice makes perfect
practice it correctly

I've had that problem for a while...but after i practiced a lot ...dam now i'm pretty good with hs
....now i can stay up for 5 sec easily
what i did is...practice whenever i get the chance
and also move my legs and push my palm down if i'm about to fall on my back and my fingers when I'm about to fall on my stomach
....practice really works...at first my wrist hurt a lot but after I recovered, my wrist became really strong and easy to control...try to stay up as long as possible and practice for a llonggg time everyday...lik 2 0 min each at least....that was my noobi tip

practice turtles (i know from experience.) Never purposely do a short kick and down because then you might do it for real. turtles rock. keep breathing. look at the ground with your eyes not your face. keep your feet tall as possible. dont be affraid of falling forward . dont close your eyes. if fall forward weight fing tips and head in, backwards weight palms and head vertical, dont get lazy in the middle start to fall goback, instead actively concentrate on keeping your legs as high possible whole time

OK ppl Wen i first started learning HS, i would always use the wall, and that got me no where for 2 months. When i stopped using it, BAMM i got down HS. Now the only reason i use the wall is like what Genetix Virus said flexibilty for hollows and inverts.
Ooo Im sure a wall helps certain ppl, "who are different types of learners." but i dun recommend using a wall.

holding a handstand is different from going into a handstand and moving your hands just to get balance.you got to have moments, forward moments.you have to lean forward and at the same time push yourself back.

how can you practice the handstand so that you could move your legs like crazy but never really move the arm section so you don't lose balance?
the difference between the best and the
worst is how mich time they spent practicing

When doing a handstand, "NEVER" bend your legs. Your legs should be kept straight and together with your toes pointing straight up, if you start falling back down, walk back, if you are falling foward, walk foward and if you are falling to the side.... welll.... there's not much hope for you
"Top Rocking, Floor Droppin, spinnin and glidin, windmills combinin, 90 90 90 90....." thas how Bboys roll!

One more thing, I also remember hearing somewhere that the average gymnast tries between 900-1100 handstand attempts before finally getting it, and thas usually only for 10 seconds. Keep at it, thas all I can say.
