All the bloods rushing to your head. take a break in between doing them dont just keep doing them all in a row or else you could faint.

Ive been practicing them for a while and im only just now starting to get them real good. I dont walk on them though i just go up and then sit there then come down. Ive been prolly working on them for like 2 months and i usually go up sit there for about like i dont know 5-10 seconds then come back down. its just practice to balance upside down. You dont need to hold them forever because they arent impressive but its good to learn how to adjust yourself to being upside down.

practice practice practice practice practice... thats all you can do really. I dont think theres any magic tip to doing them. Try going up fast and going up slow and keeping your legs bent at different angles or straighter... just practice.

I am into capoeira but I am a big fan of bboyz moves, I use some bboyz stuff in capoeira too, which is quite often among capoeristas, so lemme explain you how I do a handstand, when Im upside down I flex my knuckles so I get more strenght on the tip of my fingers I keep a very small whole-body swings back and forth with the legs up straight, like, I lean back over and I pull my self back with the tip of my fingers, this relays over the fatique among the arm muscles, but you have to do this in regular pace, but it needs to be very short swing. Try that it works with me.

hey blabla...these two were both right in a way...and listen to me cause i know what im talking bout....i may be new to breaking but ishould be able to handstand...after all ive been in gymnastics for over 10 years....but ne ways...what sdjoe said bout the finger tips thing was dead on...if u try ta use ur finger tips and kinda push them into the ground it stabalizes u a lot more...as for the swinging thing...im not too sure what was meant by that and i wouldnt try it...swinging could knock u off balance....but ya push up in ur shoulders...and like boni said...just keep practicing!

handstands.. - 10-03-2003, 08:13 AM

hey, you may wanna make use of a mate or a wall! whilst practicing my handstands i use a wall to try varying my balance and swapping hands.....its a good basis to start one handed handstands too!
also when im training i use the wall to do pressups in a handstand position (good for building ur upper body strength and gets u used to being upside down)!! give it a try *
