yeah, actually. delaying both your legs is the best way to keep your air, not too long though, you'll loose momentum instead of gain.

I catch myself, but my hopping hand doesn't seem to move. It's more like a small hop and a land in the same spot. After my catching hand comes down, my other hand decides to move and I fall over. I'm doing all the kicking right, but I'm stuck with this catching thing. How can I fix what I'm doing?

I dunno if i can help you there cause I haven't been there before
you could do the following, but I assume you already tried 1) most cases why people don't do backflips is because they are scared, not because they are physically unable. Airflares are the same. try to loose your fear of being airborne for extended periods of time, that way, you won't feel like your push hand has to stay so long. 2) spin your shoulders and upper body with more forcing. Hope it helps (StraitlanE) |

Yeah, I think I need to do no. 2. I fixed the first one. I'll try more force in my upper body this time.

Theres a trick you can work on if your two people.
If one guys holds your non-kicking leg up in the air (holding it up, but letting it be able to rotate in your hands). Then the guy working on the airflare wont need to worry about non-kicking leg comming down when learning airflares. It also helps people feel what the trick is supposto feel like. |

Hmm... try this
* Try delaying your push off (with your right) until you can't stand on it no more, and while you swing, try to turn you body as far as possibl to the side * you didn't really say, but do you actually land on your hand, then fall, or do you just kinda fall on your back? if it is the 1st, you have to swing your top body with more force and also try to position your legs more verticle. This happens to everybody, including me. It took me a while to get enough force and confidence to catch, just keep in there... dunno if it helps or not. |

hohoho... so.. when i swing my right leg up and swing ma left hand to catch... i have to turn my upper body fast into direction that i move?
and the hand... where i have to land...?? i confused when i have to land... I have to swing my hand to my side of mya body then land OR I have to swing my hand over / past my head/face? now... i have land on my left hand... but my legs stop swingin' when my right leg is up and my left leg is always smack on the ground... then my body fall.. what should I do? << THATS FOR MY EUROPEAN STYLEZ AIRFLARE ( the hand is swingin to our side of our body ) and for ma ASIAN STYLE ( like u go to handstand, then twist ur hips... then u go to swing ur moving hand past ur face/head ) am confused how to keep the legs up and moving my hand... tips please... =) thanks all.. =) |
