headspins or halos? - 04-09-2004, 05:17 AM

Ok, Im wondering wether i should work on halos or headspins. I can do windmills and 1 airmill (windmill airtrack windmill). I tried headspins today and frankly its not on of my talents, also I think halos are cooler (and are more my type of style). Also, is the risk of baldness high in halos as it is in headspins because i like my hair.

In summary
1) how hard are halos ( are they harder then headspins)
2) do i need a headspin in order to do halos
3) can i get BALD from halos

ill try and answer these as best i can. any more Q's just post em i usually come here as much as i can.

1)
Nothing is really that hard you just have to know how to do them then as they say practise makes perfect.
In my opinion headspins are overrated. everyone sees them and says holy shit that is crazy. When in actual fact headspins arent that hard. You just need to practise frequently and find your balance point. headspins are very easy.

Halos are well. lets just say they are more advnaced. If you have windmills done well enough then you should be right. It may be easier if you have headrocks so you get the idea that the power comes from your legs/hips and all that and not from your arms when you drop. I wont get into how to do them. they just take practise. Your main difficulty with halos is probably ctaching them back into windmills or continuing them into multiple halos. which basically is just experimentation to see what feels right.
But the arent to difficult if you have some experiance breaking not if your a noob. but you sound like you could give em a try.

2)
Headspins and halos are completly different things. your on a different angle and when i do halos i like hold that turtle position then come around and pop off and catch it in a tutrtle position again and continue. You can easily do halos accidently too high and go into headspins but they are different moves so you can have one without the other.

3)
Going bald from halos is something ive never really head of before because your not usually on the top of your head when you halo. you kind of roll around your head. It has never been proven to cause baldness. Dont worry about it too much. If you are affraid then just wear a beannie when training halos. beanies are also good to soften the blow if you accidently dont smoothly roll onto your head and hit it on the ground instead.

The worst thing thats happend to a friend of mine when doing halos was that there was a section in the ground at this club where one part was sticking out. it was the first time he did multiple halos he went mill-halo-mill-halo-halo-mill. Then got up and he had cuts and was bleeding along the side of his head. nothing to bad he was just so happy he got halos.

Any more Q's just yell but thats my take on all of that.

Thanks alot your advice has calmed my worries, I have decided to get a moderate headspin down(3-4 spins). Once I have that I will continue with my airtracks and halos. My goal is to be able to do a windmill to airtrack to halo to headspin combo ( this will take ALOT of time).

one more Q
1) Whats a headrock?

sick man. good luck. Youll get it down easy.

Headrocks are windmills without your hands colapsing.

Like you know when you do nutcrackers or and variations like that how your hands are on your nuts so you cant use them to windmills so instead your roll across your head when you mill. we call em headrocks.

But basically its windmills without that collaps.

You're an idiot. You're talking to two people who had a conversation back in 2004.

are headrocks like what kip up king does where you roll over your head onto your shoulder blades and then you pop back up onto your head and feet again

you dont roll around your head you need at least 1 spin of headspin and a icy ice

from icy ice you push off and spin on your head not around and slid back down into baby freeze

no bboy name
no crew

but still practices to be the best
