What do I buy? How much of it? How much does it cost? Where can I get it? Will I be interrogated for buying it? Do I need to be a certain age?

depensd how obvious you make it as far as interigating goes... if you look blatonly like a writer or someone thats up to mischief, ofcourse the shop person will ask why your buying paint or a fat marker or whatever... probably on the reason that they think you'll go out sniffin it and gettin fucked up off it, but not because of graff!

if anyone asks say your re spraying your bike or your doing some art canvases for school or some bollox... and normaly you have to be 16 or 18 to buy paint, depends on the store..

theres no real age limit over here for where i buy paint, either that or they dont care. like if you go to a local walmart (and dont feel like racking) just peel off the labels on the walmart cans and put them over krylons or rustos the same color. (if its a color that walmarts dont have just change the can tops) then take it to the gardening section or something cuz cashiers dont really pay attention and when they check it out all it says is usually like "blue spray paint" thats how me and my crew get some of our paint if no one feels like racking. but no one interrogates us even tho we have backpacks on..but idk. maybe theyre just dumb.

Damn. What if I don't want to be a felon and I just want some damn paint? I'm 15 and I don't have a lot of money.....is paint cheap? I went to Lowes once and looked for spray paint but I didn't know if it was really spray paint. It said something weird on it and it didn't say spray paint on it anywhere. What stores, what section? And what kind of stuff do i need to buy in order to put up something nice?

krylon is available at your local walmart. another big trick that people seldom notice is SURPLUS STORES. If you have one where you live, you can find paint really cheap alot of times. yard Sales are another good source of cans believe it or not. And don't rule out shopping online. But racking is usually the better way to get them.

It really depends on what store you go to and where you live. Try to go when it's busy. I know someone who works at Canadian Tire and they say 11-3 is busiest most days. Sunday mornings are also really busy. Look when one flyer expires and a new one is coming out. People will ALWAYS show up really early to get deals on the items in the flyer. Also look at the cashier, if they have a long line of people waiting to be rung through, and they look inexperienced and stressed, then they really wont care.

If racking paint isn't out of the question for you, or you have to be over 18 to buy paint, I have one method that seems to work well in theory. What you do it put like 4 cans of paint in your coat (make sure it's cold out). Then grab 4 cans and go to the checkout like you're going to buy them. Again, look for the most inexperienced, passive, (usually youngest) cashier. When they go to ring you through, you should either be talking to someone on a cell phone, or listening to your ipod loudly. If you're doing this they'll be less likely to interrupt you and ask questions. If they do say you have to be over 18 to buy paint, then look kind of disappointed/feel like an idiot and then calmly leave the store. Either you get 4 cans free, or 8 cans for the price of 4.

I'm not stealing, that's what I meant about not wanting to be a felon. I think stealing is stupid and inconvenient for other people. I don't really give a fuck about the law though, thus wanting to do graffiti.

I am shy, especially in stores (just ask Chucky or bring up my posts about linoleum and jeans lol). But I'm cold and distant from the world and have fantasies of going out at night to wander around dressed in black (ooh dramatical). I also love art and want to be known for doing graffiti (I'm kind of experienced at not getting in trouble though so don't worry). I can't buy online because I'm 15. If I go to a store will I need proof of age or something?

You sound like me lol. I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. I think I'm going to get someone to buy paint for me. I'm going to go out with my friend to do my first throw up in about 30 minutes. Wish me luck. GOing to listen to some looptroop to get pumped. :P

Well, everything went pretty well. We didn't get caught, but the can we were using for our fill kept leaking. The paint was really shitty too. The end result will probably look like crap, but it's ups. I also made the letters too tall so I couldn't reach the top. I also forgot the second white outline, oh well. I'll get some pics tommorow, and try and buy some krylon.

Word. How much does this junk cost though? In the noob thread sticky or whatever it said you gotta buff the wall first, what does that mean? Could I use some crazy paint sprayer tools too? I went to the Krylon website and there was a whole bunch of paint, which kind am I supposed to get? Can I wash the paint off the surface so I can spray it again?
