Developing Handstyle Style? - 07-29-2007, 03:22 PM

How did the more experienced writers here develop the style of their handstyle? I'm having trouble with it. Are there any kind of like exercises or tricks to help develop a style or is the only remedy more and more practice?

yeah practice like mad, then wen youv found ur style u have 2 keep practicin until u can yet ur tags out lookin perfect but do them quickly at the same
then wen uv got that down u have 2 learn 2 tag backwards (4 windows, glass ect.) and upside down (for bridges, rooftops ect.)
or even backwards AND upside down (that just 2 show off basically)

vandal?

me??

no!

i just try nd brighten
the place up abit....

sometimes what i like to do is start writing letters way too fast and see how some turn out. and if it looks good to me i perfect writing that letter and go on writing the other letters so that they all flow together. but practice alot.

it isn't easy.... at all.. not to get a half decent handstyle anyway.. anyone can write what tehy think looks good and 'graffiti style', but there is a whole lotta difference from that compared to a good writers handstyle..

it will take you years to come up with your own handstyle (that looks good anyway).. and even though you've tagged up hundreds of pieces of paper in a couple of weeks, still chances are it won't be decent.. as i said it takes years, just like with pieces..

look at other writers handstyles, bite parts, change parts, etc.. fastest way to learn i guess, but eventually it will come naturally, you just gotta have a hell of alot of patience..

yea and try to develop different styles of handies as well, as in, simple letters, wild, etc etc...just dont write in plain cursive (this toy has been getting up in cursive around my area like hes about to put name date and bell, and its starting to annoy)
also, unless its in your house or garage, stay on paper until you're fairly decent, cuz no one likes a toy >.<

yes you can be a toy and get up alot, but then when you become good and have style you'll look back and wish you didn't do it... especially if you get up alot and it's all toy shit, that's why it's best not to touch paint for atleast a year after constant sketching and practising..

now that i remembered, somebody mentioned (not sure if he said it here or not), that if you grab some paper and start doing continous circles in the whole paper, your wrist will start to get a loose a lil bit and your handstyles get a bit curvy and stuff..... or i cant remember wat it was lol
