i like the concept.. but how real can you get with a graffiti game.. maybe a Wii game would do a graffiti game a lil justice.. but custom tags? how in the world would you ever do that.. and then make it realistic. you have to think in terms of how games are made. i dunno.. i liked it.. and i did like the pieces. but one thing it lacked was variety.. there should have been more unlockable pieces that take a bit longer to do. i would have also liked to see HUGE pieces.. and not such a sluggish gameplay. one more thing that would be cool for a graff writer game would be customizable characters and free roaming environment like GTA, not just a storyline with one set path to go on. mark ecko should have collab'd with rockstar.. they really know how to make games.

I think Inkie did all the Graff for JSRF. Getting Up is OK I mean at least I shows respect to some legends.

Jetset was pretty tight, but Getting Up had a realistic story - to an extent, it was message more than the story itself. Plus, I liked the legends homage, but Futura needs to relax when he's voice acting, you could tell he was scared. I agree on the variety and definitely the free-roam idea, like, you could have the primary spots to hit up but the handstyles would get recognition. Rivals could see your shit (any of it) and get pissed off, and even tag over yours. You could start a crew too, man that would be a nice game - oh shit, what if they gave you the option to used bikes, cars, skates, etc? Damn! That would be sick as hell. With a story as good (well, for what it's worth) as the Getting Up story.
But yo, no need to hate on Ecko. I mean, at least he's tryin', no? I mean JSR and JSRF were nice, but face it, they were out when tagging had a slight "mainstream" following. That is, it was like that for me, I was in junior high and every nigga with hands wanted their own "tag."

thing is, mark ecko is not nor ever was(at least as far as any online research has produced) a writer. He markets hihop clothes, that is all. He exploits our culture and makes money off of the hard work of the real heads that are out there. I used to stick up for him until i dug around a little. I still somehow remember seeing graff shirts by him way backm but it was spelled echo so maybe a different dude. Anyway, until there is reason to believe he is authentic, he deserves no respect for making money off of a culture that he hasnt contributed to. Its nice that he does all these things regarding old writers and new, but he gets compensated for that better than any graffiti writer probably ever will.
And i thought the getting up story was pretty shitty really. Very little basis in reality. The fighting was cool, but that got old pretty quick too. The only thing that game had going for it was the cameo's by the all those old Kings. Any book can provide better coverage of those guys though, considering the legends that they are.
Fuck mark Ecko
and jetset was 100 times better on Dreamcast. the graphics were better and it played different. although i have both versions and still play em. and Yes it was Inkie who did the graff for that game.
