ok, i'm considering opening a business selling hiphop/punk stuff. basically, the city i live in has a strong underground culture (except graffiti, but i'm changeing that )

i want to sell clothing and accesories.. stuff that will appreal to the hiphop/punk/hippie community.. i basically need ideas for things to carry in stock. anyone want to make some suggestions?

things i have in mind:

CLOTHING
t-shirts/hoodies
hats/beanies
custom graffiti clothing like tshitrs and hats

NICK_NACKS
pipes/bongs('cause drug parrophanalia sells)
belts
body jewlery

probably skateboard stuff
maybe paint/caps.. not a major selling point here though



i'll hopefully hold graffiti and breakdance competitions

paint may not be a major selling point. but the easier it is to get. more people 'll get interested. sell graffiti books n dvds n that cos thatll interest people to start will it not?

Just be careful of people racking from you. Any good writer I know would do the same if a store were selling caps and paint

if you're trying to promote the whole bboy/writer thing, maybe you should think about getting some well known personas to show up to the shop for signings or shit like that. just an idea.

don't really kno much about punk so can't really help with anything else.

lmao @ bong lol........ ok, well for the punk part, u could be selling the same type of clothes a writer uses, we're r sort of the same if u really think about it, like sell the trucker caps, shorts wit a lot of bags, even camo! ( i dont know how the spell it lol) jackets wit stuff that have to do wit rock or hip hop, about the paint, just put a sign in the place u have to go pay for and put to ask u if they want paint so they wouldnt rack it. sell jackers, markers, maybe even some cds, like underground hip hop or punk music or rock, skateboards or labels for them, skateboardin shoes, they seem really confortable lol and that kind of stuff..... also shirts wit messages in the front, like political or funny quotes or stuff like that.

on the clothing issue... you should not only sell shirts and hats with graffiti on them but also have blank shirts and caps that people can just buy and take home and do stuff on themselves.. also have an offer where they give you those products for you to do custom graff on.... just keep this in mind
