One day a little child asked, "Jesus, how much do you love me?"

And he said, "this much," and spread out his arms and died on the cross. . .

practice, and respect those who deserve it. and practice. and practice.

Think about it, you have writers learning the ins and outs of entire transport systems, risking serious injury even death, arrest and criminal records that would limit your opportunities for the rest of your life, for what? To simply paint a picture, does this seem logical to you? If the answer is no then it is most likely that you don’t fathom the idealism behind graffiti.

^^yeah... and basically u need to get a blackbook(a notebook with BLANK pages in it to practice), then get some good markers...then make up a name that u think u can associate with and want to put out there... then practice practice practice until u finally wanna go out and bomb

read my post on the street smarts thread. if you dont agree with everything i said, dont do it. honestly, if you dont have an artistic background and a true love for art, it will all be a waste of time for money. you will want to paint for the art and for expression. fame comes in about 5 years if you start today. you're going to really suck for te first year, people will want to hurt you for painting thier territory, people will paint over you and clown you at every chance they get. your art will become an obsession and you'll loose friends, and probably girlfriends over it. you'll eventually run your mouth and have to start from scratch because the cops are getting close to finding you. you'll never be able to trust anyone that knows you paint and those people WILL tell someone else. you'll start over again. you'll spend your entire paycheck on paint just to bomb all weekend.

then one day someone you barely know will ask you if you'll help them learn to paint graffiti. you'll have 2 choices:

RED pill- you'll take him/her under your wing. they wont listen to any of your instruction and make your crew look bad. you'll spend hours trying to teach this kid the ropes and none of it will pay off. the kid will get caught and rat you out and you'll go to jail.
OR the kid gets good, real good. thinks he owns the place. gets better than you and you're bumped down from your rank in your crew. you look bad and he bitches because in turn he loos bad.

BLUE pill- you say no, you cant teach the kid because you have to cover your ass, but you know a website with a good forum called bboy.org. then we all have someone who probably wont listen to anything, make his town look like shit with bad style, no flow and drps all over the place.

i'm takeing the blue pill. welcome to the graffiti board. were more than willing to help you learn but you have to put everything into it and listen to what we have to say. remember one in about 50 writers get good and i've seen the odds play out. hopefully you'll be that one. just pay attention and try to learn. thats all i will ever ask is for you to TRY YOUR BEST.

ok, like its been said before, get a blackbook, practice, but start by doing simple stuff and dont try to go and do wildstyles yet, do bubbles and blocks, have fun wit them, experiment wit them wit different letters, learn which r ur weakness and fix them, enjoy ur pretoy months and play around wit ur letters wit the basic and as time goes on ull get better

look up graffiti books, most of them won't really tell you much but they will give you a little background. BTW graffiti books are mostly pictures so that might help you learn how to read peoples pieces
