"illegal graffiti"...shit's redundant

Think about it, you have writers learning the ins and outs of entire transport systems, risking serious injury even death, arrest and criminal records that would limit your opportunities for the rest of your life, for what? To simply paint a picture, does this seem logical to you? If the answer is no then it is most likely that you don’t fathom the idealism behind graffiti.

^lol. dont if you checked out the galleries at all but theres plenty of throws an stuff on bboy.org. as for illegal an legal. theres not much diff. besides actually going out in the streets an damagin some freights or throwin up. im guessing there are alot of the blackbook heads on bboy.org that dont do nightruns an ish. that dosnt mean they arent good writers but. to get to the (not to sound corny)'realness' of graff youve got to go an risk gettin caught by cops at 3 am in the mornin puttin ur name across a freight, railcar, or wall. thas serious stuff. lots of people are ill blackbook artists but them cats that are out on the streets keep graff up. some people just dont want to get in trouble.no problem. they're still artists regardless.

(i hope that blacktalon chick an fstyles dont post in this thread)
peace.easy.

Illegal Graffiti IS redundant.

Graffiti is supposed to be illegal, plain and simple. It didn't start on canvases, bought walls, or on Ecko Shirts, it started on trains, bus stops, signs, illegal places.

"Legal" Graffiti is not graffiti, it's urban art, it's not the same thing. It's the same way as painting the Mona Lisa on a wall, it's not a regular oil painting, it's graffiti.

Personally I enjoy both, and even prefer legal graffiti sometimes because it gives a better image of graffiti and when writers have all the time in the world they can produce some insanely artistic shit.. stuff that opens peoples eyes up to how great the art form is, not just quickly glancing at some toy's tag and thinking to themselves "eww that shit's polluting the city"

yea i'd have to agree with MoreOne. When u have time to actually create something maybe ppl would appreciate more by looking at it and thinking that it's more then just some letters and arrows combined together but that it's art.

i'll take Urban Art ne day over graffiti. . .

One day a little child asked, "Jesus, how much do you love me?"

And he said, "this much," and spread out his arms and died on the cross. . .
if you believe this too, put this as your signature.

I don't know how anyone can say there's no difference.

With a legal piece you have as long as you could possibly want to paint, with no pressure.
With an illegal piece you've got to get in, paint and get out without being seen, not stay too long, and still come up with the goods.

The two are worlds apart.

So long as it's not ugly as sin or on things like sculptures, beautiful buildings or churches (you know - "the rules") then it's ALL good.
Legal is cool and you get some mind blowing stuff when writers have all day to paint, but illegal is what seperates the wheat from the chaff.

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.

Why don't you want me to post on this?

You think that I don't know what real graff is and the only thing I've ever seen is the inside of a blackbook?

Fuck that.

Once upon a time in Minneapolis,
Yo,
I damn near had to steal the show...

F - everyone knows real writers spend all their time inside in the warm with their colouring books.
If they are real hardcore they scrawl a BAAAAAD tag or "throwie" on their school too.

The sooner you realise that, put away the cans, burn the yard maps and pick up your crayons, the better.
