Peter ### Autobiography
Annie ###, a strong willed young lady from a rich Yorkshire family, gave birth to me on Febuary 5th 1954. I carry my mother's name as do my two brothers and two sisters as she has the good sense not to marry until a couple of years ago. Annie's family however took a dim view of the situation and threw her out on her neck and me on my backside. I spent the next ten years in West Mount, Dr Barnardo's Home in Ripon, until we were united again.
My most vivid memory of this time is of throwing up in the back of my grandfather's Rolls Royce as he ferried me from the home to a two up, two down terrace house next to a railroad track in Darwin, Lancashire.
I learnt a lot from Darwin, mainly to build pushbikes and sell them. Eventually i progressed to doing the same thing with motor bikes. My paintings on petrol tanks of wolves' heads dripping blood were so bad that Accrington Hells Angels Chapter persuaded me to go to art college - for my health - which i did; Preston and Cheltenham were chosen where i taught myself to paint and draw so badly even the abstract boys thought i should have been struck with bikes. Since then of course they have become even worse to the point where I can barely lift a brush without causing a mess - or a master piece.
I now live in colourful poverty in a crumbling Regency flat with cracks so big they let the neighbours in, but not big enough to let me out.
