How to rock a piece - 08-23-2004, 09:42 AM

here are some steps on how to do a piece...

First you have to come up with a sketch, this will be the blueprints for your piece.
It's a good idea to start with simple straight letters if your not experienced with aerosol warfare, then you can advance to more complex pieces when you have mastered the painting process...you may want to start off fast but it will be worth it to learn your ABC's before writing a novel......

Then when you find the wall you want to bust it out on, you buff the wall....any color will do but usually a nice color will set the tone for the piece..

Next put up your basic sketch so you can see where and what your going to color...this is also where you can decide if you want to alter the piece if you want , like adding things or deleting things...like in this piece, I removed the arrows on the sides cause I wasn't feeling em at the time...and you can change things like that.....

Now you color in your letters, thats where your going to blend the colors or you can just fill it in one color, I like to lay my base colors down and do fills into and ontop of them but there are many different ways to do it...this is just one

After you get your base colors and fades down... you can add some fill ins

Then after your fillins you can do your outline, shines are also important because they really give a nice affect to the piece if done right, 3D which you can experiment with, and double outline, trim or forcefield or what ever the fuck YOU call it. You can usually pick a bright or viverant color that has nothing to do with the colors of the piece...it will make it stand out more..like my piece is greens and blues with a little nutmeg....and I put a watermelon double outline around it...but it contrasts the whole piece but at the same time kinda makes you follow the piece around and look at all the different parts of the piece....kind of a guide for you eyes.....like a tourguide for you piece...

You can also add some characters or whatever to your background....and that's basically how I do my pieces kiddys....no get off your damn computer and go practice......now!!...I said go!!!....

heres a drippy tag.....someone asked for it....drips r soooo easy....just drop straight lines from ur letters and then make em thik from the beggining and thinner and thinner as they drop....for tips on drips.....spell a glass of water on ur kitchen table and look at it as drops of the table...

edit:damn it!!!! i forgot this again....ok....very important in drips is to try to keep all of ur drips paralell to each other....makes ur drips look alot better....
