fabric markers, airbrush.. stencils..

and it's not graff unless it's on a wall...

A potential problem with airbrush, is that they don't take really thick paints - more like inks, and they are often not very opaque, so using it on dark fabrics is going to be an issue.

If you're going to be making one-off designs for yourself - the best thing you could probably do would be to get some decent fabric paints and brushes. Think about getting some kind of stenciling material too. I use a slightly textured stenciling plastic (looks like thick acetate with a rough surface) that stops the blade slipping - cut with a scaplal or other really sharp knife.

If you're doing small runs - cousider investing in some screen printing materials. This can be kinda pricey for quality, slightly less so for budget - problems here are obtaining materials and making your screens.

For large runs, it's most likely better to get them mass produced. Doing it this way you can often get your own labels put in the clothing too.
