aight. lemme throw what ive been feelin. WHY IS GRAFFITTI CONSIDERED VANDALISM?!?! its not like we destroy anything. all we do is make walls and junk look better.

but my question is:

Why is graff so much of a crime and should it be considered a crime? cause instead of fights, we either rap battle, bboy, graff or dj or anything else. . .

It's considered a crime because we don't get any type of permission to do it; rather we just take it upon ourselves to leave a little piece of ourselves in a certain spot.

It's also a crime to rack, or steal, paint. But that's just part of the game really.

And graff isn't just the multi-color prods that you see sometimes. It envelopes all types of bombing, tagging, and hitting. So, it's not like it necessarily makes things look "better". And really, that's not the objective that I have anyway. Just to get up, get out, and keep a movement alive.

Once upon a time in Minneapolis,
Yo,
I damn near had to steal the show...

it is a crime, no matter what, treasspasing in most cases "destruction" of objects/items, etc.. no1 can change that, and it will never be legal to break into a yard hit up some steel and run from the cops

"GRAFFITI IS AN ART, AND IF ART IS A CRIME, HOW COME PICASSO NEVER DONE TIME"

Cavemen did it, so did Romans and Egyptians. The Incas did
it, so did Greeks and Native Americans. There was graffiti on the
New York subway a year after it was built. There`s graffiti on the
moon. If graffiti is vandalism, and vandalism is graffiti, then man
has left his mark with garbage at the farthest reaches of the
universe. So you with your pathetic desire to be remembered are in
good company. I could spend a ream of paper telling you about the
development of modern graffiti, but we`ve got other ground to cover.
It`s important that you know it, so ask your local expert (or DJ
Deadly Budda in Pittsburg if you don`t have one) and he`ll tell you
his version.
