if ur using a watery ink, the sock is mostly so it doesn't just flood the tip....i've only ever made mops with filler so i can't tell you if it's better or not....mine is just a glue stick with a sock in it with ink and a tip....really damn simple, but effective....if u look at the jumbo refillable pilots, or highlighters, or basically any marker, they all have some sort of fill, it's not just ink in something....although it sounds like ur talking about a BOTTLE, whereas the filler prolly applies best to stuff like deodorant sticks and glue sticks....less bottle-ish stuff....hope this helps

K peeps, here’s a tip on mixing cans –
http://www.geocities.com/defresh750/mixingpaint.html
Krylon Cans
Quote:
1.Decide what colour you want to make, and get the basic colours ready, eg if you want to make a pink, you will need to get a red and white can. Remove the nozzles from both cans.
2. Work out which can will be the base colour, ie which colour will have the highest ratio of colour in the finished product, eg pink has more white than red in it and so white is the base colour.
3. Place the base colour into a freezer for at least 1/2 hr. ( Dont worry about the paint exploding like a beer can, i've forgoten about cans in the freezer for weeks.)
4. Get a basic BIC pen and cut the inside tubing at a 45 degree angle at both ends as shown in Fig. a. You will use this to transfer the paint from one can to another.
5. Fill a bucket or sink with HOT water and place the other cans into it.
6. When the base can is cold (the paint won't actually freeze) take it out of the freezer.
7. Take the hot can out of the bucket and put the pen tubing into the hole where the nozzle sit's.
8. Take the base colour and put it ONTOP of the pen tubing that is sticking out of the hot can as shown in Fig. b.
9. When you press the cans together you should here paint going from the hot can to the base can. It takes a bit of practice to get it happening, don't press to hard.
10. Periodically check the colour you are making, when you spray the base can it will have some of the unmixed colour sitting in the internal stem/tube so give it a good shake and spray it until a consistent colour comes out.
Tips. -You may need to reheat or refreeze the cans during the mixing proccess.
-You can mix as many colours into a can as you want, see how heavy you can make one can!
- Look for a thick base colour, the tint colours don't need to be as thick.
- Shake the cans (while they are together) when you are mixing, this sometimes helps the flow of paint.
- Release some of the pressure in the base can. This helps when you are mixing alot of paint into one can.

Places to hit - No quote needed (offa my head)
k, if ur thinkin bout going out to hit a place there are somethings you gotta take in mind.
1) Am I gonna freeze up? If you think possibly/yes already you prolly arent ready for a place that obvious
2) Who will see this? If your thinking barely anyone then I wouldnt even bother... try and go somewhere where some people will actually see it
3) If the police come, will I be able to escape? Make sure the place has more then 1 escape route, cause if they catch you there ur pretty fucked
4) How will I leave there fast enough and what will I do with the cans? Assuming you empty all ur can on the peice, I would stock them in ur backpack till u come by a reletivly far dumpster. To get away - dont use a car, though quick, it has a license plate and make a loud noise.
5) Will I be able to see? If the answer is no, bring something to be able to see with that wont be too obvious, or go to a different spot. Your not gonna be able to peice/bomb something without ur sight...
6)Will the wrong people see this? Use a different name then blackbook/legal, or else people will eventually recognize it, no matter where u put it
Thats all I got for it so far. Ask more questions bout spots and Ill try and answer em too. keep reppin writers and peace

Markers? they work on walls pretty well sumtimes. I rack those thick permanent markers from school, right now its a redimark, and they seem to wrok on any surface not wet. Ive tagged like concrete, brick, metal, everything but glass or wood pretty much. I dunno how long theyre gonna stay, but the local writers seem to use markers a lot too. Peace

My Magnum 44 has worked great for me, works on almost all surfaces and proven permanent on most surfaces.

k i don't know what preconcieved notions ppl have, so don't take this as an insult, but...
u don't HAVE to use krylon or rustoleum or montana cans...just because that's what we usually talk about, doesn't mean that's what ur limited to....hell i take what i can get....so if u can find paint, ANY spray paint in ur town, USE it...
along the same lines...u don't HAVE to buy caps....stocks aren't THAT horrible, in fact a lot of the pioneers of graff used stocks, u can get some nice stuff from them...as long as it isn't that crappy fan spray, ur ok

word, monts, rusts and kryls are definitily the bomb when it comes to sprayin, and caps r always good to have, but they not necessary. Look for em if u can, and if u cant then settle w/ what u can find.

the only problem with magnums is that they tend to fade after a few months...

A tip for y'all, I just picked up a pilot, and it works pretty damn well on most surfaces. Its got a 1x1 tip, and for 8.00 it aint gonna make a dent in ur wallet. Well, thats what they sellin it for here. Sorry if that sounded like an ad, but its just advice... so ya, magnums or pilots id say are the way to go, then again I barely have experiance with marker....
and poppen, ur definitly write bout the stocks. I picked up an old wal mart style can sum1 tossed out with the stocks on it that still had a bit of paint left and threw up a quick lil bomb. not too much a hassle actually... lol, peace

heres my opinion on this.. ive been writin for 5 years... so ive had a decent bit of experience.
paint is paint. as long as its flat and not some drippy gloss shit.. it usually doesnt give ya much trouble if you know what your doing.
like ill use painters touch shit for fill... krylons for outlines.. just cause it saves a bundle. 99cents a can vs/350 a can. ya know...
i discourage against racking... unless your seriously gonna come up off a boost. otherwise i wouldnt put myself at risk... sooner or later security gets your ass.
as for caps... i mailorder german outlines (grey caps) rusto fats and n/y/ thins.. and those orange dot fat caps. i mailorder from art crimes.. theyre the cheapest by far.
as far as markers... i use streakers (2 sided/color paint markers) or a refillable paint marker. wich'll run ya bout 5 bucks in your local michaels store. the refillable ones are like the older "puffy paint" in the plastic squeezeable botle. only now they have come out with a new brand... where the friggin tip is bigger than a magnum 44...lol and the shit seeps paint like no other.
as for writing in itself... go with a friend.. i cannot stress this more. and both of you dont bust... one of you keeps a piggy watch and both have radios. ive never been caught to this very day... because i always go with more then myself.

dollar store - but omg thepaint sux (compared to krylon or rusto) if u can deal with the bleeds and the type of paint that takes several layers till its actualy a full color - go ahead - but to me i think ur better off with krylon or rusto at a cheap store
