k, so its anonymous that peeps prefer it this way. Now lets get back to the main point. Any people who have sumthing to contribute go on ahead. Im prolly gonna look through sum previous threads and use sum quotes for it too. And fis, u need to make it so theres not too much paint in one area but keep ur wrist locked. So u should keep the can moving in a slower, but steady pace. Try practising on like blocks of wood, canvass paper (if u have it) or a place noone will ever see or care about and just lay down a bunch of solid lines till u figure out whats going wrong. Gonna look for other advise on this board. Peace

k, starting to get stuff... this is from a recent post on caps...

Quote:
Poppenjay

unless it's something elaborate, i use only 2 caps
german fats
ny thins

that's all i ever needed

F Stylz

Caps kinda come down to personal preference, so here's my personal preferences:

Bombing: NY Fats
Outline(1st): stock cap (doesn't matter on this one)
Outline(2nd): German Outline
Shading: German Outline or NY Thin
Filling in: NY Thin or Rusto Thin
Cutting and cleaning: Of course, German Outline

If I decided to pay for my shit: Belton Outline cap, Montana Skinny, or if someone happens to have'em: NY Ultra Thin

-Sektor-

I use only Super Fats -the white ones with pink dot- and outline caps- I prefer Montana Skinnies.

Outline caps, I use them for pieces outlines and fill-ins, taggin and shadin. Sometimes I also use them for backgrounds.

Super Fats, I use them for bombs outlines most of the times, bombs fill-ins, taggin and sometimes backgrounds.
Hope this helps sum peeps

Rackin Paint... I had to play stupid to get these peeps knowledge dropped for others to read, and it was worth it.

I can't believe I'm writing a guide on this but:

DO wear an oversized coat, but not too big, otherwise it looks obvious.

Walk around the store, like you are actually going to buy something...don't just walk to the paint rack and then appear a couple minutes later and leave.

DON'T try to rack at Wal-Mart or some place that's got more video camera's than R.Kelly's bedroom.

Sometimes it's a good idea to buy something as well as rack at the same time. Makes you look like a 'paying' customer.

If they don't have the paint you need, ask them to order it, then come back and rack it. Don't be dumb and give them contact info so they can get a hold of you when they have it in stock.

At first, don't try to excede your limit by trying to walk off with about 12 cans. Start small, then build. Skills are learned by doing.

If you wait until the cashier gets off and is replaced with another, you can come back and rack during their shift. Usually there's 3 shifts. That means 3X the paint dummy.

Always look confident about what you're doing, even if you're not. If you think you look suspicious, you probably are.

Don't try to rack at the same place everday for 3 weeks straight. Or even 2 weeks. Fuck it, don't even do it in the same week. Search around for lowkey places so you have a couple spots.

Although it seems selfish, don't tell your boys about your newfound spot otherwise they might wreck it for you.

Anything that I forgot? Add it.

Oh, and if you get caught, DON'T tell them that an outlandishly handsome guy named F Stylz told you to do it on the internet.

B-Boy Sole

if the place that your rackin at has people that follow you along or some shit, then bring a friend along to distract the person.
soviet
prolly. www.totse.com then go to bad ideas, there's a lot about beating the shoplifting security. there's stuff about industrial strength magnets, haha, a bag with five aluminum foil layers....look around...

Hi this is my first post, anyway i've only bought paint once heres a few tips on racking paint:

1. remember to walk in casually looking chilled, dont look stressed/suspisious, dont fidget or play with your hair or look side to side.

2. wear big jacket, pull your boxers right up, tighten your belt and place the cans in your boxers, u can usually fit 3 cans in the front and 3 cans in the back. For an extra can you can wear jocks and fit a can in there but u have to pull the lid and the cap off.

3. i've never seen a can with a beeper on it EVER, i live in Australia by the way but i dunno why it should be any different elsewhere. Even so always check, if anythings stuck to the can like a barcode or anything rip it off. (btw someplaces they dont even work cos i've forgotten to rip it off and the buzzers didn't even go off)

4. Take note of your surroundings, dont steal if an employee is in the same isle (duh)

5. If you think you are being followed walk up an isle or something, if you don't walk out of the shop its not stealing (i've been caught once but i didn't walk out of the shop cos i knew they were onto me, so i just gave the cans back)

6. Cameras are bullshit IMO, sure they work but no ones ever watching them and i always rort infront of cameras, but i still try to avoid them.

7. i always walk directly to the paint isle and walk directly out, better if you look like you know where your going IMO.

8. if you've got the balls you can just fill up a bag with like 15 cans and walk out, you will have to run tho.

9. another way i've racked paint is in summer i just took off my shirt wrapped 4 cans up in it and walked out, no one saw me tho and its so easy to rack from that place that its not funny.

10. Big hardware stores are the easiest by far, the isle's are high and i've been sussed a few times by the checkout chicks and they've never said nuthin.

well those are my tips and i've literally racked 100's of cans and only been sprung once and didn't get no charges.

B Boy Sirus

...in the states you dont have to be out of the store in order to catch a charge. If you havent left yet you can get a "Concealing merchandise"charge. Which usually carries just a bad of sentence as shoplifting....
theres another post I hope wont be brought up again. Peace y'all

Homemade markers. Defintly give props to poppenjay for this... he gave us all this info from bombin science plus his own homemade... I not bein sarcastic at all either.. props.

"yo there's athread all about home-mades (or "mops") on www.bombingscience.com...they have some pretty good recipes there"

"jimmy_mahoney - alright this is 3B's midwest super mop.

grab any tall skinny shampoo bottle..like your girl friends aveda ish.

clean that sucka out..

you will need a stiff straw..like the one from McDonalds..you cut one end like a rose..on a 45 degree angle..and put some contact cement on the inside rim of the shampoo bottle and the side of the straw that will touch the rim....leave the straw long for now.

a steelie marble to go inside.

for the nib just chalkboard eraser felt..it's really thick, and it holds your ink for a long time, plus it drips crazy..you can cut it to shape to..like chisel, mushroomed, squared off, round......

with the first time you fill it up..fill it up like 3/4 of the way...when you stuff your nib in..cut the straw off 3/8 of an inch below the felt.

squeeze and wreck"
"crysysone -

ketchup squeeze bottle
2/3 house paint (water based)
1/3 acrylic gloss medium/varnish (easy rack from any artstore)

this way when you spray the squeeze bottle it'll actually adhere to the wall, and drip super slow down... best if you cut about half of the nozzle off for a fatter line.. hard to control, only makes about 5 tags, but wack effect."
"sauce -

VHS MARKER
Ok. Here's the recipe.

Materials:
VHS tape
screwdriver
exacto knife
craft glue gun and glue sticks (or epoxy)
duct tape
lots of your favorite ink
old sock, or other filler
2 chalkboard erasers

You are better off getting one of the VHS tapes with the plastic sleeve, since that's inkproof. First, you pull off the cover that protects the exposed tape. This is where the chalkboad erasers will go. Next, unscrew the tape and take everything out. What you want to do now is use the duct tape and epoxy to seal off the interior, so it won't leak all over you. Don't put the tape back together yet. You need to cut all the plastic junk out, so you can stuff the tape case with filler, and insert the eraser felt. Use the utility knife for this. Remember! Cut away from yourself, so you don't sever an artery or something. Once you're pretty sure the felt will fit into the marker, put it together and seal the edges with the epoxy, and then tape over it.
Ok. We're about halfway there. Now that you have a completely sealed container for your ink, you can cut up your filler and stuff the tape with it. The less you put in, the drippier your marker will be, since there's less to soak up the ink. 3/4 full is a pretty good amount. Now you're ready to put n the nub, or marking surface. Cut up the chalkboard eraser so that it fits into the space. You have to use a full one, and cut some from the second to fill up the remaining space. Once you got this all together, you can epoxy it in place. If you want itto hold together longer, epoxy all the eraser pieces together. Sometimes they fall apart if you don't do this. Make sure the epoxy makes a nice seal around, so all your ink doesn't leak out when you try to write.
Now you can fill with ink and start writing. You shouldn't use this to vandalize other people's property, because that's illegal, and you can get arrested. If you do, that's not my fault. (disclaimer) Have a lot of ink, because it takes a lot to fill this bad boy. Two of the marsh ink bottles from 7th Heaven will do the trick.
Cover with the case the tape came with."

"k take whatever recipe for ink you deem worthy (there's tons)...empty out a glue stick container, including the middle column stick thingy....take a filler (can be whatever...an old sock, spare fabric, etc...) and fill it up about 3/4 (more for less drippy, less for more drippy) then pour your ink in....find a suitable tip (i usually use old chalkboard erasers) and cut it to whatever kind of tip u want...chiseled, rounded, etc....fit it on the glue stick, making sure the glue cap fits over it....and PRESTO, a simple and effective (when made properly) mop"

"btw i gave credit to whoever posted it down on www.bombingscience.com at the top"
Ya, I know this is for tagging, but w/e, hope this also helps

i mean like last night - i found this bottle of ink in my dads drawer - its used to refill stamp pads with ink - it had a roller ball as its tip (a big roller ball). the roller ball wasnt good for me so i used a screw driver to pop it out of the top of the bottle, i then dryed the ball - threw it out, i went downstairs trying to find a good replacement as a tip. i looked around till i found a sponge, i cut it into the size needed in order to fit into the top. i duct taped it on and secured it well with the tape. after that - it worked great and i used it today ins chool and damn its awesome.

that was pure knowledge to me - but to making a mop with a sock and a shampoo bottle - lol -wtf? - need a lil help there. thats where i got a lil confused. thnx if u can help - peace
