soviet....yeah..it is a respect issue to a certain point....if I cover the #s.... #1. The #s actually have a meaning. #2. the workers can't read the #s so they get pissed and get a negative view of graffiti if they already don't because it's making their jobs harder. #3. They won't just leave the #s off, so that means that they will buff part of my piece (probably more than needed to print their #s) which means part of my piece gets buffed and it looks like shit. #4. having to take the freight out of rotation and replace the #s costs them time, and time is money. If it's costing them money when the trains get painted (which they do quite often) then they are going to take more action to prevent the trains from getting painted ie. more gaurds, dogs, light posts and so on. (all stuff that isn't good for anyone that wants to paint freights) So in conclusion, if it takes 2 min. to tape over the #s so it will prolong the life of the freight scene, then I will do it if I can.

good to see ya stoppin by komb
hey help me settle a bet with another writer buddy eh....it's trespassing just to be IN the yard right? he says it isn't, i'm pretty sure it is...... |
|
Think about it, you have writers learning the ins and outs of entire transport systems, risking serious injury even death, arrest and criminal records that would limit your opportunities for the rest of your life, for what? To simply paint a picture, does this seem logical to you? If the answer is no then it is most likely that you don’t fathom the idealism behind graffiti.
