they have online alphabets. you can copy those and then add style to em and then once you start gettin more creative you make your own. My homie marvin did that
Just practice making letters, characters and symbols. I don't endorse the whole copying things to learn cuz from what i've seen guys who don't do that end up with much more creative style. Practice a lot, with cans, on paper, with markers, everything.
If you are seriously going to be a graff writer, consider the following. First, get a name. Nothing over 5 letters because if you have a really long name, you may find yourself getting busted a lot with only half done pieces. The name Exzooberant is outta the question. (Props to Zoob from GZC though, his name was a just good example) Next, start doing what writers call block letters, or blockbusters. Basically, that's the starting point. After you have that down, add dimensions, and experiment a little with color. After block letters, start doing bubble letters (which basically is your throw-up style). After both of those comes semi-wildstyles, which don't necessarily have the letters connecting all over, but may have some decorations, like arrows, bits, bubbles. The last thing in line would be the wildstyle, which is an all out piece with colors, designs, possibly a charachter and a 3-D. Work on these, and don't try to wildstyle before you can do bubble letter. Shit will look wack.
You don't really HAVE to learn bubble letters...agreed it can help you, but you really won't use them too often unless all you do is run around and tag. But don't do that, be a real man and do pieces..
LoL im wit ground control, well technically u could but think about a peice from someone who doesnt know anything, not even the fundamentals
Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.
Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

GroundControl, that running around and tagging is called getting up, and it's just part of a healthy graff diet....if you're a writer. Don't underestimate the street bomb; throw ups can make or break a king. Having none around makes it look like you don't get up enough.
I kno about tags and shit bro, no need to lecture me. But hear my point:
I don't do throwups anymore cuz they're boring...i'd much rather stick to pieces. I've already got enough throwups around, and i don't want to do anymore. Pieces are more of a challenge to me and i enjoy doing them 10x more than throwups. So why should i continue running around and tagging? So i can get my name known? I don't really care much for becomming popular.
And i never told him not to do any taggin, i was just suggesting that he should explore pieces as well as throwups.
I tryed a bit of graffiti once, but quit because I didn't really get the hang of it too much. But I know how to do a few things, I'm not sure if you would call it graffiti, I would think its wack, but I have a little of my "art" done just now and put through my scanner. Its attached.
Anyway, I think I might start practicing a bit more, since there is a graffiti forum. But my question is the same as every n00b, where should I start. The ones I know were taught to me by some of my dawgs in Miami.
Should I try imatating some one elses style and building off into my own style that way? Should I just start my own style generally?
