What's really a pain in the ass... -
05-12-2008, 11:11 PM
Problem:
So i was on my myspace, and at the top of my friends' status update it says, "Kcho is Breakin" I knew who this guy is, but i never really met him at school. So i messaged him about it, and he told me he was starting to bboy. So i told him I've been bboying for a few months and if he wants we could session some time. And then i told him where some good practice spots were, along with jam info. So he was pretty delighted and after this I was feeling pretty good myself, it was inspiring seeing someone being introduced to bboying.
But the next day he goes to school, and he tells a whole sh*tload of people that i break, and people i didn't know he knows are asking me If i breakdance and the like;
And eventually the info comes to a guy who used to be a great bboy, but got lazy and stopped, he told me his friend told him that i "broke", and i don't even know the guy, and I like to keep it my little secret, it's not cool when people you don't know know things you don't even want you friends to know.
Damn I don't know why this guy told everybody, idk if he was trying to find me, or what. It's pretty gay.
Sorry if it's not well organized.
Anybody else have problems like this?
Usually I don't have stuff like this happen so i tend to think about it too much...

Yeah, that actually happened to me, but with rapping instead of bboying. Started in 8th grade, and no one except the friend I rapped with knew about it. Then freshmen year told a couple of my friends about it and they were cool with it. But then, sophomore year seems like EVERYONE knows about, not really too mad about it though cuz it's free exposure I guess.
Don't worry about it though, you'll probably get a lot of people asking you to break for em, cuz that's how it was for me and rapping. But eventually they just forget about it
You have nothing interesting to say so you write about yourself

eh it happens, don't sweat it man. I managed to stay underground for about 6 months before it get out. If nobody is callin ya ass out I don't see what you're trippin about. Bottom line is, most ppl can do is ASK you to do it..in which you say no. Just do ya thang man, don't sweat the small shit.

Yeah man, you don't have to be the dancing monkey, literally. It's no biggie, if people ask you to show some "cool moves" then just say "alright", just bring your hands up to their face and go...

Well if you didn't want him to tell anyone you should have said that. He probably didn't think it was a big deal telling people.
I'll just start off by saying the majority rappers today have no intention of supporting hip-hop culture. If you don't support the culture, then you aren't really hip-hop.

lol i always keep my profile private
people from my class try to add me from time to time
they're curious why i call myself " bgirl floorkid" on myspace
but i've been clickin the "deny" button for 2 and half years now when it comes to friend requests from people who are at my school.
no matter how good i are,i don't want anyone to know that i'm a bgirl.
after havin read so many negative posts about breakin at school here on bboy.org,i'm convinced that i'd be definitely in the same situation as you,if i let a fucker know and showed him how i roll.
at first all peeps will be lyk "omg your so cool"and then after havin breaked a few times, the first haters will come to me n throwin comments lyk "ur boring u always do the same moves or can you do a headspin?" n shiet like that
well,i'd rather break n show my skillz to real bboys n bgirls n ,not to ignorant farmers who always think "step up ruuuuulz all da way".

It shouldnt matter if people know you dance or not...
if its the constant command of "do your dance" that gets on your nerves...
Say you only dance for money.... Some times people WILL actually give you money
and youll be happy to get a dollar for a footwork windmill baby freeze wont you?
I like site, becouse is help me teach breackdanse. they not here someonne to learn me

Yeah. Get better because people are ready to laugh at you. Haters are born ready.
It helps if you have a decent amount of colored people in your school that know a fair amount about hip hop.
Just a bboy standing in my bboy stance...
