I know this sounds harsh but, even though depression isn't a choice, cutting IS.
If she'd cut herself over the two of you breaking up, it's HER CHOICE.
No one is forcing the knife down on her skin but herself.
As hard as it might be, it's still possible for her to resist cutting herself.
It is NOT your fault.

So, if you feel it's better to break up with her, just do it (obviously do it in a nice and decent way).
Unless you think there's a chance you can a)wait it out or b) have a good talk with her to see how you two are going to deal with the 'mom problem'.

I know it's not easy but the only way any relationship works...or at least the only way to avoid hurt feelings is to be up front with people and tell the truth!

(first try and get your own head together and figure out how you feel and why you feel that way)

Then sit her down and talk to her about feeling trapped by her parents and worrying about her depression

And if her mom has a problem with you then you really should sit the mom down too and tell her whats up and how you feel about the amount of control she holds on to

(just be respectfull and possibly sit down with your girlfriend to talk to the parent)
I've yet to meet someone who doesn't respect people who are sincer and up front

just remember girls are people too...so if you think of how you would like to be broken up with (probably you wouldnt want to get dumped without knowing whats up)

I've now gotten to that phase/point where i can't be fucked with most people I know. I got a friend I used to be friends with for fucking ages walking out on me totally (even if we did distance ourselves for a few months prior 2 that) and if anyone kinda does something remotely dumb i fucking flame them for it when i don't normally do. At least I do hope this is a phase lol and i really cannot wait 2 hit the overs nightclubs cause I don't have 2 bother with stuck up whiny bitches at school...ahh, i feel better now
