Talking **5 HipHop Albums to Listen to, for the Rest of ur Life...** - 10-22-2007, 05:03 PM

If you HAD TO pick 5 Hip-Hop albums, to listen to for the rest of your life... which ones would they be?

Mine:
-Jay Z, 'Reasonable Doubt'
-Chamillionaire, 'Ultimate Victory'
-Nas- 'Illmatic'
-Lupe Fiasco, 'Food and Liquor'
-Notorious BIG, 'Ready to Die'

*Notice I said HIP-HOP albums, not ANY (as in, ANY GENRE of music).

"I'm Like the little kids on T.V. that dig through the trash
I hustle regardless of the way you talk shit and laugh
A lot of niggaz drop science but they don't know the math
Coz their mind is narrower than the righteous path
It's funny how on the block niggaz will kill you for cash
But never raise their gun and cry out "Freedom at last."

Incredibly hard to say but i'm hating the lack of Native Tongues Posse in the mix.

A Tribe Called Quest-Either Low End Theory or Midnight Marauders, it's too hard to choose
A Tribe Called Quest-People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm
People Under the Stairs-The Next Step
Souls of Mischief-93 'till infinity
Common-Resurrection

I really favour the musicality and creativity involved in all aspects of these albums, not just the lyricism or the particular style they went for.

Peace

Madlib - Shades of Blue
Binary Star - Masters of the Universe
The D.O.C. - No One Can Do It Better
CunninLynguists - A Piece of Strange
Nas - Illmatic

Just straight dope. All these are different styles too. I chose whatever it is I feel like at certain times.
