Yup it's that time of year again. Post up your prom experience =D
Well mine was
okay the food wasn't that great, and the music was crap. They played stupid mainstream songs and some of the songs they even played twice (which was stupid). Getting ready was probably the most fun out of all of it, just dressing nice was good.
Before Prom:
I had an early release at 11:00am. I went straight to the store to pick up the corsage for my girlfriend. I got home took a shower and went straight to her house where i changed into my tuxedo (black tux, black vest, black bow-tie, white shirt). She wore a yellow dress and looked beautiful as usual. We then went to the mall to take some pictures. After that we went to my parents work right when they got off just so they can see us all dressed up, took some pics and headed out. Afterwards I drove us to her friends house where they got ready as well. Her friend's date and I just sat downstairs and watched the news as we waited impatiently for everyone to arrive.
When everyone got there we took more pictures and stuff. Sadly the only guys were me and the other dude. Made things a bit awkward since i didnt know him, but afterwards we became cool with each other. We all then drove out to the Weston Hotel in Itasca, Illinois (30 minutes away from where i was)
When we arrived it smelled like straight up ASS CRACK i thought it was my car but no it was the air, thank god it wasnt like that inside the place.
The food
Appetizer: Tricolor Tortellini, Alfredo Sauce
Salad: Caesar Salad
Entree: Grilled Chicken Marsala and Mashed Potatoes
Dessert: Chicago style Cheesecake
overall it wasnt that great, the caesar salad was half assed, made out of lettuce head instead of romaine like it should be. The cheesecake was too sweet then again all cheesecake is. The chicken was dry so that sucked. Only thing i liked was the Tortellini
The music:
They played a lot of crappy music, mostly mainstream. They tried to appeal to everyones needs; rap, country, latin, etc. My girlfriend and I tried to make the best of it and danced to as much as we could. They played some good slow songs but not really, only one that was really good was KC and Jojo "All my life". They played this one song that was sort of an Apache Jump on it remix or whatever, i wanted to break to it but 1 i was wearing a tuxedo, and 2 it wasnt the same without my bboy friends.
As we were leaving they gave us these fancy little picture frames with the menu on it. and on the frame it says on the glass with a picture of a couple dancing.

Post Prom:
We went to this little thing after prom at the local rec center. it was a mini "casino" that was played with fake money. There was also a DDR section, where my girlfriend and I played for a bit. Afterwards my girlfriend and i attempted to clean out the Black Jack table, didnt work out so well but we were ballin... with fake money of course heh. The food there wasnt good, it was extremely cheesy pizza and i didnt even want to touch the brownies. After that i dropped off my girlfriend and had a long kiss good night. That was probably the best part of my night.
