Thats illegal..........lol just kiddin, i do a LOT of video editing working on various different things from music videos to full ameture films and over all i think PowerDirector 5 Premium Edition from cyberlink is the most well rounded program. its a pain in the ass to find a "digitally liberated" copy but id try emule or bit torrent, but this program is heavy on resources (mainly ram) so if youe looking to just edit something short and sweet (up to 30mins) with simple cutting fading and titles etc.. id stick with movie maker, its low on resources so will run pretty slick regardless of your pcs specs but for your own sake save every two minutes or so as ive ruined weeks of work in seconds with this program.

alright well im trying sony vegas 6.0 right now and ill try it out but if it doesnt cut it. ill go with alphatrions choice, enigmas choice seems too hardcore

I have SOny Vegas 4.0 and I can't seem to find a way to make it render to a reasonable size, any suggestions?

My 2 and a half minute clip is 39mb... I think thats too big....

Guess it depends on which version of Premire though. I wouldn't recommed it unless your getting some what serious with video editing.

Yeah premier is pretty hardcore and you need one hell of a machine to run pro 2.0. I still find movie maker does the trick. And To fukaihoton : i dont have sony vegas but it sounds like your saving the files in .avi format. This format is uncompressed and is very godd quality but generally HUGE! try saving in a format like mpeg or wmv, there a lot smaller.
