Im thinking about a bboying game. You could start out with your simple 6 step and things and maybe once you get more style points or something you could learn to do mills and crap on there. If you can make a game I would love to talk more with you about this.

I agree fully with VP.

To add on:
Speaking as a third year University Computer Scientist, i've done a fair share of software development -- including aspects of graphics (IE OpenGL and JOGL -- same stuff Half-Life 2 is made of), networks, web based programming such as **********, PHP concurrently with MySQL Databases. Other things that i've picked up include datastructures, foundational computer science, low level understandings (assembly, circuits), extreme programming, and some other bits.

And let me tell you, it's not as easy as it sounds. Many of you don't know that the easy part is programming -- the hard part is coming about a smart way to do it, therefore minimizing your time maintaining the program. Maintenance and debugging is where programmers spend most of their time. And let me tell you, at times, it really sucks hard.

That being said, you're not going to find a programmer who will spend a shit load of their time developing a game a game on bboying unless they can make profit off it. Besides, what kind of game would you make out of bboyin'? IMO a pretty lame one.

It's a simple idea, but implementing a simple idea could produce hundreds of thousands of lines of code.

And it looks like not much progress has been done on that alledged bboy game than setting up a forum. Looks like they learned the hard way.

And truth be told, big games usually require a group of people.

It takes a long time to do.

But i'm betting he just bit off more than he could chew and also lacks the knowledge.

Also known as XP. It's a certain practice you follow. I worked with 4 other people in my team and our TA as our client for 10 weeks creating a relatively large game made in JOGL using practices of extreme programming. Was a starfighter like starwars out in space. Had all the collision detection, sweet textured models and all. The only problem was that our network skills weren't that up to par then because we hadn't taken any classes specifically on networks. Therefore we wrote poor code in that area. So, when we finally got the multiplayer working, it would lag severely with 3+ players.

edit:
A small proof of my work and our group:

http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~deanliu/pr...esPreview2.avi
It's a small preview of our game on iteration 2 (Out of 3 iterations and a final presentation). We were known as The Proxima Chronicals (TPC.)

The playability of it sucked, but it was a learning experience. Other groups in our class made an online casino, college grade/student database, online monopoly, etc.
