Yo... I think some of us have questioned to drink or not to drink sometime in our lives.. and for me that time is about now.

I just went to a party and it was mad awsm.. just that about everybody was drinking and I didn't drink either. I'm really indecisive about drinking, and I haven't planned to in the future. Thing is I made a promise to myself when I was younger to not drink... and I don't know about that anymore.

I feel like an ass thinkin bout drinking though. My morals have changed since recent issues in my life and this is another issue to test my morals.

So... I don't know much about drinking.. I just don't want the typical response: You live life once.

If it's possible.. I would like opinions of those who drink and those who _don't_ drink. Like... why? I made that promise to myself because asshole adults who can't control themselves... it's just weird to think about me drinking.

Well to me I feel like DONT drink its a dumb thing to do if you do it leads to other thing which may get you killed

Your like me I dont wanna drink why you ask?Cuz if i mat share something personal....My dad drank and he would get the cops on him and stuff and her never said he loved my mom and she dont like to talk bout it....and he left Never saw him again Drinking took my dad away and now my mom struggles to house,feed,and clothe me my sis and My bro i have 5 bro and sis some are out of the house and stuff which is good but for my mom to go throught that alone......naw

I mean I feel ya man Dont do it if ppl Pressure you saw "no" Its simple you dont need to prove ne thinng Dont risk your life for one moment of fun.

ppl get violent as well so not a good idea. u can also be easy persuaded to do things u normally wouldnt. i have a drink sometimes but not to the point where i get drunk...actually i think its not bad unless u get plastered

seriously it's amazing how many kids OUR age drink, kind of scary, always talking about how they got 'fucked up' and what not, then you feel like" shit, i wanna get 'fucked up' ", then you realize its the damn peer pressure, tend to your own life and don't conform to the lifestyles that you don't want to live by,

i tried beer once, it was horrible, that's mainly why i never do it, that and it's bad for you.

about the parties, the main reason i don't go to parties around me is because of the alcoholic atmosphere, all they do at their 'parties' is get 'fucked up' and sit around, No Dancing!!

haha yeah same exact reason i never ever go to parties!! It was soo0o0 gay I just got back from Hawaii a couple of days ago.. Nd someone broke into my house & had parties like everyday! Bottles nd cigs everywhere!!!!!!!!! pissed the heck out of me fool!!!!!

i was at a house party the other day. it was me and two of my gorgeous lady friends. everyone there was getting drunk as hell and there was a keg and all. it's pretty funny though, the house only had 1 bathroom, so the line to the bathroom was like 10 girls long all the time. no guys in the line, cuz they could just piss in the backyard.

anyways. my 2 friends got drunk and i didn't drink because i figured we needed a designated driver. from what i saw, they must not have been used to drinking or something, cuz they were reacting pretty badly to it. they were complaining about how their face and ears were getting all hot and their hearts were beating too fast and being out of breath, some crap like that. so then when the police came to stop the party, i drove us all back to one of the girls' houses and i spent the night there with them.

the point is: don't get drunk, but let your hot friends get drunk, then you get to sleep with both of them.

I drink and firstly let me say it has nothing to do with peer presure, the reason i started drinking was out of curiosity, after trying it i realised what i'd been missing out on. I can handle my alcohol and I never get agro unless someone starts shit with me. Drinking and dancing go together like bread and butter, the people you talk about that get drunk and don't dance wouldn't be dancing if they were sober either so thats a stupid point to make.

Honestly you might as well try it. Take it slow, the only people that make asses out of them selves are those who drink to much to fast, or those who are naturally dickheads and use alcohol as an excuse to be immature. I've had some of the best times of my life drunk, but i admit drinking is not for everyone. So take it easy, have a few drinks and see how you feel.

I remember being about 15 and swearing that i would never go to those parties where all they do is get mega wasted. But after a while, being the experimenter i am, i decided that maybe drinking wouldn't be so bad and went to my first drinking party. I was 16 at the time. It was cool, i drank a fair bit, got happy drunk and everything seemed to be cool. Truth to tell i wanted to KEEP drinking to keep the feeling, but my friend managed to half dissuade me and so i went home and was fine.

However the second party i went to, things didn't go so well. I hadn't eaten much before i came to the party, so i was kinda on an empty stomach and i bought whiskey instead of drinking lighter stuff like beer and mixer drinks. So as soon as i got there i figured i'd get straight into it, i double shotted about 4 times in 30 minutes (double shots are equivalent to two standard drinks in 60 ml-not a good idea) and then had some really strong mixer drinks.

All in all i had about 10 or 11 standard drinks in 1 and a half hours. I was absolutely off my face and my friends had to take care of me and make sure i didn't die of choking on my own vomit. I had actually drank to extreme and my entire body was literally poisioned with alcohol.

Now an experience like this would scare most people, and i'm not saying it didn't. But i could have decided never to drink again and developed a bad relationship to alcohol, or i could have learnt from it, decided not to binge drink again and realised that you need to drink socially and in moderation.

I chose the second choice. I decided to learn from my mistake and develop a mature attitude to alcohol, that is to use alcohol as a social lubricant and something that you only do in moderation.

Alcohol is not a bad and evil drink, it just depends on how you use it and how you are attached to it. A substance is only as powerful as the power you let it have over you. If you see it as a taboo or something that is forbidden and evil, if you ever have it, you will be likely to drink very much to excess because you'll see it as exciting and forbidden.

However if you see it as just something to be had in moderation and with friends, you should have no problems and be able to stop at any time and still have a good time.

I'm not saying you have to drink, just that alcohol is only as good or bad or powerful as the relationship and perspective we have on it. It can't do anything bad to you, unless you abuse it and misuse it.

I don't drink but I was at a party once, one of my best friends, who does drink was in a corner throwing-up into a pringles can. It didn't look like to much fun. I never saw the point in drinking, I figure I don't need alcohol to have fun so whats the point. I guess, also, part of my not drinking is 'cause I'm one of those crazy people that has a man named Jesus in their lifes. I also made that promise to myself and I will never break it. I encourage you to do the same. It's purely your desicion though man. If you do do it don't do it to heavely, or all the time, or you'll screw up the development of your brain, really. Occasionall small amount are probably fine, I still say don't though.

I drink at parties. Dont break and drink tho, not healthy. Dont drink and drive, dont drink and anything except for more drinking.

Its not a bad thing trust me, just DONT overdo it, you gotta know your limits.

I was brought up in a drinking enviroment, my whole family drinks, but no trouble ever starts because no-one gets majorly pissed and everyone stays in control.

Drinking is not for everyone, especially those with no self-control

first off, my parents split up because my dad was (and is) an alcoholic. he lost 2 great sons and a wonderful wife to liquor. i lost a dad to liquor.

that being said, alcohol is not the worst thing in the world. i had a few drinks at a wedding a few weeks ago after abstaining from alcohol for over a year. the key is knowing your limits and your personality type. if you know that you tend to abuse things, then drinking may not be for you. but if you do try drinking, i would encourage you to try it in an environment that's relaxed, where you're around (sober) friends, and where you can spend the night if you need to. you need to establish your limit before you start drinking socially.

we all know, however, what can happen if you start drinking too much, or doing things you shouldn't be doing.

don't EVER drink and drive.
