didnt know where to put this...whey? glutamine? creatine? -
04-01-2005, 10:11 PM
im thinking about buying some because i heard i should really majorly up my protein to see any more fat loss results
couple questions about it though
1) in accordance to diet and fat loss, should the calories with whey be included into your diet?
2) i know you should have at least your bodyweight in protein, but is it ok to use whey to make up most of this if not all my bodyweight in lbs?
3) when should whey be taken in accordance to meals/workouts? (lifting/cardio)
4) where to buy it from locally and whats a good price? $/lbs ...or whatever
because i heard if i up my protein, exercise with cardio and lifting, i should see results, and the fact is i dont eat enough dairy or meat to make up my weight in protein
off topic but what is
5) creatine? and what does it do?
6) glutamine and what does it do?
Moves Learned
1. Kip up
2. rolling kip up
3. tornado kick

its better to get your protein from actual foods...whey can be used once you get all you can from foods or postworkout. It's usually best to buy online...try atlargenutrition.com
Upping protein isn't going to help with gains unless you up the calories too. Eating alot of clean food is the most important thing when it comes to building muscle, unless of course your just trying to lose fat. whey calories are still calories...
creatine increases the ATP stores in you muscles. ATP is used for quick burst activities like weightlifting. It basically helps so you can do more work than usual, but its by no means necessary. When your on creatine you should drink ATLEAST 1 gallon of water a day, but probably closer to two. This will protect your kidneys, as well as just being good for you in general.
Glutamine helps with recovery. I've used it before and I liked it, but again I don't think its necessary. Definitely a good supplement...it can also help you keep your muscle when dieting...
Vin Diesel and the Internet - relation? I THINK SO
Vin Diesel invented the internet while trying to steal cable TV.
Contrary to popular belief, it was in fact Vin Diesel who invented the internet. Al Gore stole the designs when Vin fell asleep at his keyboard.

if your only getting that much and you weigh 170 you need to change things around in your diet...and then add some whey. Get some tuna or chicken breasts and eat those.

like arfen says, lots and lots of chicken and lean meats!
if ur trying to lose wheight low fat yogurt is really good
o and some ppl said try to get ur protein and ur bodywheight equal for each day, thats usually if ur body building and are serious about it, esentialy just eat lots of protein
some fat is good, just stay away from the saturated fat.
wholegrains will help you lose wheight because they have lots of fiber and fill you up so u lose the craving for food.

green tea has health benefits, and it increases your metabolism...I doubt it will with just a few cups a day, but its not bad. I figured he was drinking it with his meals and drinking water throughout the day...

Creatine helps the body to retain water, along with the atp stuff. So as bboyarfen said, you need to drink alot of water cuz otherwise you get cramps and some nasty headaches. Personal Experience it hurts a bit. Its definitely worth the money, but it is mostly used for weights.

Creatine = Bad.
They're thinking of making creatine a perscription drug or banning it all together as it so closely resembles steroids and has many negative effects on the body.

LOL im into bodybuilding at the moment so i can probly answer some of your questions bout it Iv been doin it for about a year now and i can see a diffinent improvment. iv trippled in the weights that i lift now so im proud of that im now benchin 65 kilos (140 pounds).
Ok, Whey protien is used for muscle gain, not wait loss. if you train and work out, you need protien for muscle development and lots of calories, that means you need to eat alot Steak, Tuna, Chicken, etc is a good source of calories. if you realy want to get big, have 5 meals a day train heaps and have alot of protein shakes, this can be bought in pharmaces and health stores. Cardio burns fat and musce if you dunt have enuf calories.
You see. calories are used as energy, If you use alot of energy on cardio it will burn calories, and calories are used to build muscle as well. and if you dunt have enuf calories your body feed off your muscles.
And Creatine,
Creatine forms a layer over your muscle to stop your body from feeding off your muscle, when you take this make sure you havent eatin anything beforehand.
Iv never realy had to use creatine becos im only 15 and it dosent make a difference to me lol.
