if you care.... - 12-01-2003, 01:01 AM

well this dosn't have much to do with breakdancing but....
I had a kung fu grading yesterday. Man was that sweet! We took part in a chinese parade where there was the phatest breakers. One dude did a cool x-out. After we did our grading in a chinese retaraunt with hardly any room and I almost kicked a little kid! Man it was so cool. Anyone here do wushu?

what the hell is wushu????????????

"GRAFFITI IS AN ART, AND IF ART IS A CRIME, HOW COME PICASSO NEVER DONE TIME"

Cavemen did it, so did Romans and Egyptians. The Incas did
it, so did Greeks and Native Americans. There was graffiti on the
New York subway a year after it was built. There`s graffiti on the
moon. If graffiti is vandalism, and vandalism is graffiti, then man
has left his mark with garbage at the farthest reaches of the
universe. So you with your pathetic desire to be remembered are in
good company. I could spend a ream of paper telling you about the
development of modern graffiti, but we`ve got other ground to cover.
It`s important that you know it, so ask your local expert (or DJ
Deadly Budda in Pittsburg if you don`t have one) and he`ll tell you
his version.

Well children let's not call out now. hands up if you want to ask a question.
Theb -"Mr Rewi, what's an x-out?"
well it's a backflip with legs split.
Talib Kweli- "What on earth is wushu"
Well that's an interesting question. A more specific name for kung fu. All matrix, Jackie Chan, Jet Li movies are made with Wushu.
class-"Gee mr Rewi you sure are smart"

wushu is one style of martial arts...jackie chan uses more then wushu as does jet li, he uses two categories of something...if i can be bothered to get my dad to answer a question, ill ask him which to styles he does. like when u watch the one...hes using two of them, n he often does in his movies

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

Well it looks like it's time for a history lesson.
I'm not too sure the year but at some stage the emperor of china felt threatened by the monks who spent thier lifes souly training in martial arts in the temple of shaolin. He sent an army to destroy them and the temple of shaolin was completely irradiated except five children. These children started teaching shaolin kung fu to the actors in the chinese opera in hope that the kung fu would not die out. That is why Jackie Chan knows kung fu, it's because he is in the peking opera and he got tought it by his masters. That is also why the movies today mainly consist of wushu. When I watch movies I just see the moves that I do but modified for the cameras. Oh there goes the bell. Class dissmissed!

I mean it would be stupid to say that the ONLY martial art in movies is wushu. I mean is ROCKY wushu? Just a little lesson.
