Ok the process you are referring to is the Coriolan Effect. Basically the way it works is like this: the Earth is spinning but the distance travels is different because the earth isn't a cylinder, its a sphere which means in a roatation more distance is travelled along the equator then say closer to the south pole. This effects causes large masses of usually wind to be effected by the shorter distance. And although the legend is very well believed, it has no truth, in order for the Coriolan effect to actually show, you would need a 300 mile long toilet. Otherwise the direction of the water is determined by which way the water's pipes are set, to force the water in a given direction.

Saki, you'll learn about it in Earth Science..at least I did. It's gotta do with which way wind is deflected..AK is correct, earth isn't a cylinder or a perfect sphere. it's an oblate spheroid, it bulges at the equator. but not much, just barely. If your interested i'll type up what my last year's textbook says..I never returned it and they didn't notice..well she didn't ask for it back but oh well.

not trying to pick on ya or anything AK..your my buddy..haha.

i am a sophomore in highschool. . .i ain learnd it yet. . .im not gonna in any of my school days. . .that class is not offerd i think. .

nope i go to a school where there are like 60 ppl in my class of 06. . no1 cares about small country schools, therefore, we dont get taught much. . .

so nope. . basically, ive not learnd ne thing in school. . .and i dont see that about to change anytime in the near future. . .

my school is about the shittiest school on the face of the earth
