My eulogy to the BS thread
A famous writer once said, "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." If that is true, then The BS Thread made a great life. It was the most giving thread I've ever known. And judging by the nodding heads i see in front of me, it would seem that many of you agree. The BS Thread was born The Butt Syrup Thread, Many years ago. The child of a man whos name is forgotten in the annals of bboy.org history. They frequented the bboy.org Forum long before we all became members. The BS Thread was very active in the community, ushering in generation to generation of new and eager BS'ers. It was known for its laid back environment, and most of all, its ability to bend around the rules of its home, The General Discussion Forum. For spamming and multiposting was not so frowned upon here. It became a place of friendship, and shaped many unbreakable bonds and memories. Unbeknowst to the early inhabitants of the Thread it would one day achieve greatness There are so many good memories. Proof, DNA, DB, Snoops, AK, Sandy, Myself,and so many other contributors to the early days, forever will cherish what the BS Thread brought to us. I remember in particular when proof, and dna, owned over half the posts in the 500+ page Thread. Great times, it brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. The BS Thread was Remarkably good to us all, was never short on light hearted topics, and hilarity often ensued at somebodys expense. And It will forever be known as the Thread that set us free. We must always remember, we get outta life what we put into it, it is short, so enjoy it while you can The teachings of the BS thread will be wisdom that i will always cherish In closing i would like to share a poem with you all Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. BS Thread, thank you for being a part of our lives, we are all going to miss you dearly |
