actualy he won haha i was rooting for him. but he barly won, unlike his previous victories. most ppl saw it as shoguns win, but luckly the judges saw otherwise...very close
mmalinker is a good site to watch the fight, takes a decent time to fully load tho. |

One thing to keep in mind, most of Shogun's leg kicks were answered by a jab and straight left from Machida until he switched stances (2 hits versus 1). Don't listen to Joe Rogan's commentary. Machida won, he barely won, but he won.
Side note, kicks are not scored as high as punches because kicks are generally not used for knockout attempts, but rather building up for a punch KO by reducing mobility, punching power, speed, stamina, and morale. The same could be said of jabs, though they cause the dizzying damage that comes with blows to the head. |

Actually if you go by what you said, in NEVADA state commission judging, Machida "might" have won, since it is round by round instead of being judged as a whole fight like in Dream promotions in Japan. I think machida won because round 1 he barely did enough with that knee to the stomach to sway the judges and rounds 2 and 3 were arguably machidas, but the last 2 rounds were both Shogun's.
