I'm really liking break4christ's response up there ^

Its true, god gave us the free will to do what we want, cause if god made us do this and that then it'd be like we're being forced to love him and god sure as heck does not want that. Its not Gods fault that children in africa are starving, its our fault. .cause us (as people) we are too lazy and selfish to help them.

we're all in this together

As I said in an earlier post, science cannot bring faith in God. If you put your faith in these theories, it will be a long road of doubt and discomfort. I'm speaking from personal experience. I don't know much about the book so forgive me if I am speaking to soon. God bless.
Oh, thanks for the warning, brother. Though, my faith is not based on apologetics, I will be sure to heed your warning. This is one of the only books I have actually read other than the Bible, concerning Christianity. I am currently fourteen-years-old, I have recently been attempting to expand my knowledge of Christianity for I feel that it is important to know about ones religion. Currently, I am reading my way through the New Testament (I am currently half-way through Romans), after I finish the New Testament, I have two other books lined-up: What Every Christian Ought to Know, and The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict (a book debunking every attempt to disprove Christianity in the 21st century).
I do not have a computer of my own, I am only able to check this site every once and a while via my friends' computers. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can further expand my knowledge, I am up for them.

P.S.: If it helps for you to know, I am not currently a part of any denomination of Christianity.

I love it so far. Unfortunately, I think all the teachers are different, so your experience might be very different from mine.

18 out of school looking for a new gig
So he kicks it with some kids, they promise him big
Desperate for an answer as he weaves through the maze
He'll sell his soul as long as he's getting paid
A craving never satisfied drives him out of his mind
Caught between heaven and hell
Parallel to the city skyline
Soon he's off on the corner it's his
Making bids as the cash keeps him blind from the crimes that he did
Caught in an illusion of misplaced selfworth
Enslaved by the trees that he thought would be him free
Starting to see the flaws in his philosophy
A victim of the streets entrenched in crime diversity
Ponders why what he bought didn't bring what he needed
And why the bling only made him conceited
Yet he still walks the jungle stricken by fear
Inspired by the image that he tries to adhere
This cat is trapped by a mask
One you won't find at the store
Choked to the floor
Left wondering what he stands for
Searching for more than this lifestyles can ever provide
The street corner took control of his mind
Yearns for repentance as he fell on his knees
Humbled before the creator of all that he sees
The love of Christ charges no fee
His soul is finally quenched;

Hey brother, I do not know if you know this or not, but: there is a forum on this website completely devoted to the art of emceeing. If you want critique on your piece, I suggest posting it there, for they are very knowledgeable in such things. I apologize if you have also posted there without my knowing, just thought I would offer up this suggestion.

O yea, I know. I'm not serious about emceeing and it was just a way for me to pass some time. Just thought I would post it up on here, in case anyone was interested. Thanks man!

God Bless.

Oo I'm in a hiphop ministry team at my church
We aren't amazingly skilled or anything but we put our hearts into it, and we shoot for excellence because that's what we want God to have. But yeah it's all about the heart and just loving God and trying to do it for Him
So if you have the opportunity to do it I really suggest you do, it's awesome

Here's just an interesting piece of advice an Orthodox Christian friend of mine told me:

"You need a relationship, not a religion."

This was during the time when I could not figure out if I was Baptist, Methodist, Presbytarian, or anything else. I suppose he was telling me that I should focus more on my relationship with God rather than what Christian category I fit in.

Put a little pep in your step...

If you want to be more knowledgeable, find a good christian church. And by that, I mean a church that preaches the bible. I happen to be a Baptist (independant fundamental, not southern) and I have my reasons for that; it's because I have a great church that preaches straight from the Word of God. I'm not saying baptist is the only way to go (it's the best way to go in my opion) but the important thing is that you follow the Bible.

I love that quote. I think it's better used though in the context of Christ. Maybe saying "Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship" would be better. This way it puts Christ in the picture for someone who might not know to what "relationship" you are referring too.

God Bless. I hope everyone is well.

Haha, you're right! I should have pushed that into there for a better meaning, but I was just quoting exactly what he said. But yes, you rearrangement has a clearer (and less misleading) meaning.

I was just very touched by what he said.

Put a little pep in your step...

Yeah, that's a sick quote! hah. It's interesting because if you were to say that to someone they might say "Not a religion? what are you talking about? Christianity is one of the 3 most popular religions in the world. How is it, 'not a religion.'" And it's true, Christianity is a religion. But to me, that quote is saying, if you focus on the religion aspect of Christianity you will have missed the entire point. Maybe I was just reiterating what you guys already all know, but sometimes I just like to type my thoughts out hah.

I say this because I had to ask myself a question. What do you guys think? What is the definition of a religion? It's kind of a simple question, but could be important.
