So I remember a thread on who plays online PC games like Starcraft, WOW and Diablo II but I am going to dedicate this thread just to D2. So I am curious, who on this still plays this game?

I still play nowadays but it's interesting to see that high runes are the currency nowadays. When I play LOD in the past (spent like 2 yrs playing classic before converting to LOD), I don't remember people trying to trade high runes for anything. And I am also not sure I like the fact that when the ladder expires, they will be placed in nonladder and then they get to use ladder items they had before. Because of this, they can try to rip people off with those items when trading.

What? Ladder items are expensive on non-ladder because they can only be obtained through an expired ladder character... That's common sense...

HR are money now because they're more obtainable than they were in the past, duped runes are also rampant which caused an economic sub-failure and items that were cheap in the past (like SoJ's at the very beginning of expansion cuz of how easy it was to gamble them in pre 1.06 or 1.07 I forget and the dupes) are much more expensive these days.

Then again you can just trade over d2jsp for forum gold and have a permanent economic staple... I've been wondering lately if FG will xfer to D3 when the game comes out cuz it might be worthwhile to stock up on it now if thats the case.

I use to play a lot last year. I've mostly slowed down but I have about 90 characters spread across 20 accounts. I just keep maintenance up (log in every 3 months) now as I've mostly lost interest in playing.

lol.. I used to be a hardcore bnet player, been since around 1.08. The game has progressively become worse (or maybe, by comparison, the same?) in terms of total jerks in the game. So that's why I completely ignored my high level item carrying accounts and inadvertently let them die out a while ago.

I play the Median mod now. Considerably WAY more entertaining, balanced, and fun. The skills are completely revamped in terms of names, animation, and even function; there's also additional quest/dungeons/monsters and a huge revamp of items and such. Runewords and Gems actually have a more solid use then before. There's other stuff I can mention but all of it is explained on the site. Just search "Brother Laz Median Mod" on google.

I don't disagree that jsp is wack but Iunno where else to use as a trade site. I'm aware of the uber quest I sat in that irc hunting channel for a while trying to get in on the goods but got hella bored... not to mention my smiter was never really fully ready for the fight. I play casually these days, I haven't been hardcore about playing the game since OTC/Kaotics ruled US West back in like 00-02 when I used to sit on Diablo2 for like 6hrs a day just PKing/PVPing. My last 'lvl character' on classic (After the VERY first ladder reset) never made it past 69 cuz I could kill anyone easily at that level.

I also miss Phil and his lvl 99 necros on US West (he was both first Necro to make lvl 99 AND second Necro to make lvl 99, I also believe he made like 2 or 3 more 99s just to use the kill bug and have his name at the top of the ladder like 5x in a row), back when being a necro was the easiest way to level.

this isnt gonna b liek a continuation of the old Diablos right? Like every1 starts brand new, no importing old chars and shit right?

cuz I might play this shit with my veteran diablo friends if it comes out after xmas (so I have to time actually play it without school in the way). I've played WoW, not hardcore but I did powerlevel to lvl 60 (this was b4 any expansions) and did alot of endgame shit with a top tier guild but I quit early on.

I'm also waiting for SC2 lol

yeah that's fair enough. there aren't many good active sites beside jsp, so it may be a necessary evil for some ahah. i use diii.net though they aren't as thriving as jsp. more safe imo though

I used to really enjoy playing Diablo II, I never got into the expansion though; PvP was then all about items, not so much about skill. I was all about PvP, made a few wicked FoHers and Bone Spirit necs, however auto aim blizz sorcs ruined it

i played for a long time, i remember ghoul stinger and carrion horn bows from version 1.09 when bowazons were basically the only good pvp option.

anyways i quit playing all together because of all the hacks and lets face it

blizzard is making money off WoW, they don't give a fuck about diablo II or its expansion.

Once diablo III and SC2 come out, they will always give a disproportionate amount of time to wow merely due to the fact that they are getting massive income off it

while i was a big fan of d2, and i loved doing hell boss runs trying to get uber rares,,

I feel diablo III will eventually end up like diablo II, full of dupes, hackers, etc.

Stupid bowazons. Sole reason they nerfed Decrepify which was a BS move... "The range is to long and it lags players".....

Quite ironic since all Necs after that switched to Lower Resist which had an even LARGER radius of effect. Iunno why bliz couldn't just say "Hella zons are crying cuz they don't know how to play anything other than a POS spambot character so we're gonna nerf this spell to make Amazons much harder for you to kill"

So true MaDD TBH i wouldn't have minded fighting bowazons that much but they all had the same bow (highly imba bow) either carrion horn or ghoul stinger) so fighting a bowazon was basically a suicide attempt.

And yeah, then necs just went and started spamming bone spirit, and paladins blsesed hammer, theres so much lag their missles went invisible....
