Animation style dance - 07-30-2008, 11:25 PM

There is a style of popping called animation where a person moves in slow jerky movements to make it look as though they are being animated frame by frame like picture to picture. for any of you poppers who know this style of dance please make or request a video guide on how to animation dance or basics of animation. all the styles of popping are on wikipedia.org just so you guys know and try to help me. thanks peace and keep poppin

thanks so so much guys!! now i realize how the aimation dance style works. the slow jerky movements are robots and dimestops. im learning like everything on the robot right now ive made so much progress. on youtube this guy elastic illusion goes over every single aspect of the robot. like how to control your body piece by piece. like he teaches you side bends knee twists stances fork lifts and everything its crazy. thanks so much guys! thanks peace and keep breakin and poppin- Bboy Neon Rain

the slow jerky movements are actually speed changes, which require the robot precision and dimestopping. Kaimo meant that u should HAVE the basics of the robot and dimestopping down pat before attempting animation.

This will be testing your "watch and copy" learning technique

Go youtube and search "Clay Animation" and then try to copy the Jerky movements of those clips.

A few definition that i use to describe dance in general

Dance: Movements done to portray the music.
Dance styles: Specific movements done to portray the music.

The slow jerky movements can be achieved with a number of different methods. A few examples:

Quick successive dimestops.

Small vibrations while moving.
