Also... you know what's sad...

No one ever told me what musicality was. Just that I needed it.

Punks. haha.

I no invent that musicality is listening out for the music itself, really listening, not just hearing let us say specific parts of the music.

But this is what i dont understand, okies? (possibly cos im dumb but hey)
: Lets think theoretically about a piece of music. Like any piece of music, it builds all the instruments and not just all of the instruments all the time. How do u no then, which instrument will come in (I can usually tell by the build-up (crescendo) that something is coming up, but i have NO clue how its gonna play out) and hence how will u dance to it. Unless u deliberately not dance to that part of the instrument until u hear a couple bars of it, in which case it might be ova.

I always thought of musicality (as chippa would say on my level), just moving to the music. It doesnt matter about how many instruments u can hit, or parts of the music u can dance to, as long as u can dance to it CORRECTLY. Whether u can dance to all of the song correctly (doubt it), or just 1 part correctly, it shouldnt matter although it would seriously undermine ur ability to express the music if u can only dance to one part.

Heres some question invent

DT (and im trying to dance, its difficult cos i always freak out one bit of the song and STOP, then figure out the other part to freak out)

You don't KNOW.
It's intuition.

And that's a fine definition.

Well, thats cos half of it comes from chippy, and the other half comes from u.

and definitions are useless unless u can actually put it to practice

Haven't you guys ever heard of dance theory. It's like music theory but it analyzes musicality and how come moves look natural or forced. So there is a way to give a definition to musicality.

More words of wisdom:

The movement of the music lends to the movement of the dance.
The movement of the dance lends to the movement of the music.

There is an relationship that a lot of poppers are missing when it comes to our dance and how we interpret the music.

A lot of you might be a bit young for this analogy (due to lack of life experiences) but imma use it anyways.

For someone who makes porn movies, all they are doing is having sex. No emotions, no feelings. Just actions. Just movement. And it's just two people going through the movements with no real connectivity. They move in relation TO each other.

For someone who is making love, there are all the emotions, the feelings, the passion, the tenderness, the desire... and the two bodies link up as one, their breaths sync up, their heart rates, they feelings for one another. Their souls join together, for that moment in time, inseparable. They move in relation WITH each other.

Obviously, the porn is how 99% of poppers move to music. They just do it.

Making love is how DANCERS move with music and interact with it.

Are you guys poppers or dancers? Do you wish to be more than just a popper? If you just wanna be a popper, then for God's sake, stop asking about musicality, because you will never get it until you decide you want to be something more.

With my extensive knowledge, its the PORN STAR that DOES THE SEX in the porn films, the PORN DIRECTOR makes the film (unless this happens to be a POV thing) in which case its an expection. And porn stars actually get paid on returnability so its more like the music business than anything else (girls get paid a lot more than guys who act like statues basically)

doofus invent

but hes right about the connection.

EVERYONE here should have a basic understanding of these things. These are the foundations of ALL music. If you understand them, it makes listening to the music easier. It also improves your understanding of the STRUCTURE of a song and will help your ability to interpret the sounds you hear.
now, i won't say knowing all of what he listed in this post could clear up most of these "questions." however, it would sure as hell reduce the amount.

i thought i would quote this post because all of you have no idea how much of a hand-out this post is.

You're right.
It won't answer most of the questions.

But what it does is knowing that stuff gives you an understanding of HOW music works. When you understand those structures, it makes it so much easier to discuss music and musicality, and it will help you to DISTINGUISH WHAT EXACTLY YOU'RE HEARING.

Damn... that last post was redundant.... i said the same thing in my first post...

after having re-read all of my posts, now i know why i was so mad when i made the last one.

Seriously... you guys need to re-read only the posts i made... (i know it sounds conceited...) seriously... i gave you guys the keys to the kingdom, opened the door, and said "come in..." and know y'all are asking "how do I walk in the door?"

Just to let you know also...
I've been popping for 5 1/2 years. It took me 2 years to get on beat. I've been working on musicality for 3 1/2 years and I'm just starting to realize what MY sense of musicality truly is... I've known how to find it for about a year now... so for a year I've been exploring how to unlock it.

So just friggin go and work on yourselves,,,

You've only been popping 5 1/2 years? I thought it was more then that. I would have guessed 8 or 9.
