popin' / strobin'.. HELP - 10-05-2003, 10:13 PM

hey guys, i was at a competition (master the art) ad U of M and saw some poper's strobin.. that got me sooooo interested in that way of popin.. if anyone has any good info on technique and how to practice it thatd be soo awsome.. or any info on poping in general.. but i thought the strobe was tight as helll..THanks guys..

yeh, ive seen like the 6 posts on strobin and looked at tons for popin, i guess i should more be asking...

what are some good excersizes to do to get these things down? Right now I'm just practicing my dimestops with like 2 second incriments, and tryng to get them clean, then move faster and on. And as for poping, i have it down, but would like to get to pop faster and to the beat; so i basically take like songs with a strong 4 count and pop to every beat, or just practice tensing up my upper body for a second or so then releasing.. Someone tell me if these are what I should be doin..Thanks..

well if you wanna get faster..than practice hitting on the 4 beat. eventually you'll have enough muscle control to do this with ease..and will be able to flex faster and faster. if you flex your muscles for a second as hard as you can..that will increase the strength of your hits or "pops" but will not be as effective toward your speed goal.

strobing excercies... just move and then suddenly stop. Don't tense up or anything, just stop. move, stop, repeat. its easiest to get this with your arms at first. when dre strobes he keeps his muscles relaxed as possible. The illusion comes simply from dimestops, not from hits. altho you can add the hits for more presence. pc.

alright, cool.. I'll be practicing those things. When I want the effect of my body hitting to the beat do i want to add chest neck or head pops, even leg pops? I saw a guy poping to the beat, but wasnt sure if he was using his whole body or not, just knew it was crazy awsome.. Also, is the amount of movement really up to me on strobes? Right now I practice moving about 3" everytime.. what distances do u all strobe at (between stops)? Thanks a lot..
