Secondly to answer your question I think the best build for popping would be a really skinny guy with buff pecs. You could hit hard, be flexible enough for dope wave effects and all your motions would look really exaggerated. You could even hit really clean right angles on tuts.
I put on 20 pounds this summer, mostly meat.. I had to completely relearn my body when it came to dancing. very strange hauling around extra weight when swinging my arms around.
