Decent audio heads -
06-22-2008, 07:20 PM
Yo, I'm looking to put together a group of online heads with varying styles to make a mixtape. I'll be making all of the beats myself and the finished product will be free to download. This is basically just a chance to get yourself out there a bit more (i'll be putting out copies of the tape at shows i play and as "free to take" in local independant record stores) and collaberate with a wide variety of cats over a wide variety of themes. I'm not looking for cats who're particularly mainstream in approach, i'm looking more for lyricists and people who put a bit of thought into their shit. Tracks will cover any range of topics and subjects, some hardcore, some chilled, some political, some humourous, i basically wanna cover as many bases as we can. This will be a collaberated effort that will hopefully produce decent and respectable material. The only prerequisites for joining the group will be:
1.Good quality - As quality will undoubtedly vary between all involved, the effects will be less noticeable if cats have at least a fairly high standard (im not expecting studio quality)
2.A link to some of your work if i'm not familiar with you (if zak, mode, razor etc are interested it goes without saying that this doesn't really apply to you)
3.Your email address so that I can send you the beats
4.Some way of chatting to you directly (msn works best for me, but I do have AIM aswell)
5.A good level of ability not only in writing but also in actually spitting the tracks.
Anyone who is interested, sign up here.
Peace, Dobb.

I'm up for it, can you do post production stuff on songs? Because my friend usually does that stuff for me and that seems to be where most of my quality lies... Recent songs in the audio lounge.
Anyways let me know if you'd like me or not

You're definately of a good enough standard from the song i just listened to. I can do post production stuff if you wish, I can also teach you how to do it yourself to save hassle of you having to send me an accapella of you spitting and me then cueing it up to the right part of the track (i do my recording in logic, so it's not as simple as you recording it, sending me all the required files and me loading it up into cool edit or cubase.) That being said, you're in. PM me your email addy and msn/aim shit.

i would volunteer myself...but im curious to as to how much u expect in terms of number of appearances and stuff like that. i'm always down to drop on a couple tracks if anything.
and though my recent shit is more mainstream...thats just me catering to an audience. the older heads know i can drop some more meaningful shit. (and once i convert this file, imma put up a short verse in the audio lounge)

Kaiz, you basically contribute what u want, be that 1 verse on 1 track or as many as you want. Once I have a few more people (advertising on other sites aswell) i'm gonna knock up a quick invsion forum for us to use to discuss everything as a group and decide who's on what track etc. That being said, I know you got the underground on lock aswell (i'm Dobb remember lol) so i'll put u on the list.
Zak, nuff said, you're in.
Verb, gonna check ou your audios coz i don't think i've ever heard you before. Once I've peeped your ish I'll let you know.
Tuddles, haven't peeped much stuff from you yet, gonna have another look and get back to you aswell. Keep checkin the thread.
Oh yeah, and anyone who is interested can hit me up on msn at moghedienband@hotmail.co.uk

If my delivery gets palatable before this project is set into motion, I might get on it.
And if the rain stops and everythings dry, she would cry just so I can drink the tears from her eyes...

Roc - you're in
Elbee - not to sound a prick or anythin, but at the moment, you need to get your delivery up to scratch before you'd be able to jump on this ish. That being said, recruiting for this project will be happening whilst the project is running, and if the first tape comes out good then i'm gonna try and keep this shit goin for more. So it's a no for now until you get a better grip on your ish. No offence meant at all, just wanna try and keep it at a consistent level.
Verb and Tuddles, i'm gonna try and make time to listen to y'alls stuff tonight so i can give u an answer. peace

Also, here is the link for the forum for people who are members of the mixtape project. It aint gonna be a big forum with mad activity, just a place for us to talk about tracks in progress etc.

This is a real dope concept Diamond.. I definitely won't be on the first mixtape (no mic, so haven't really 'practiced' my flow, deliver, mic presence, etc.) but maybe by the second one, if there is one, I'll be more polished and developed?
At any rate, I'm lookin forward to just hearing this.
And it really makes me want to get my mic already hah..

No offense taken dobb. I ain't deaf or anything so I know where I stand. That's why I said, "If my delivery gets palatable."

Tuddles - You definately natural enough on the mic and your presence is great. I'd like to see you spit some better lyrics before I give you a definate yes though. Your technique is real good for your experience, I'd like to see some more "lyrical" for want of a better word material from you though.
Verb - Almost the exact opposite of tuddles. Not sure if it's coz it was old stuff or not, but your lyrical content is sound, whereas your delivery leaves a little to be desired, on teh tracks i peeped you sounda bit stumbling over your words. Before I can give you a definate yes I'd have to hear some new stuff with a bit more presence/clarity to it, perhaps focusing on riding the beat as well instead of just having nice lyrics.
