^^ This is an example of how important a sound card is for home recordings, so the recording quality isn't too good cause my sound card got fried along with my mother board (which is why it took a while to record). Look under battle tracks for "Vs. LocoLika & Mode".

There is a bunch of little personals in there. Just know that Pop2Lock pops and locks (kind of obvious, lol). And there is a refrefrence to Mode being "lost for words," well, he said he was lost for words in one of his freestyles he posted in the Audio thread. And that pretty much sums it up.

Peace.

EDIT: Also, the first verse focused on Mode, and the second focused on LocoLika aka Pop2Lock. Peace.

da breakdown - 10-02-2003, 11:11 PM

this was a wierd battle for somereason to me.. i see that audios are battles are difficult wen its one on one, much liess one on one on one..but ya ll did decently..here's my votes:

mode- ya vocal were kinda low and the flow was basica;; didnt sound to comfy on that beat which probably wasnt a good choice for a battle..punches were so so same as wordplay

Lokolika-- oddly enough, i liked ya shit.. the beat was a hot battle beat(what was it by the way), ya flwo was god but there were times i still didnt understand ya.. but only for split seconds.. ut it wasnt from ya accent it was at 2 points it felt like ya moved as way form the mic cuz it went lower..but one point it got louder.. the accent got thick, but it was understandable.. had some decent punches and a good flow..

jumar-.. liked ya flow the 2 beats were ok, but probably werent neccessary.. respect ya tryin to make sepparate verses for each to make more disses, but it would have been better to keep it one verse.. punches wereoff and on the one i liked were goods, and then there were some eh ones.. and could loudly hear when ya took in breaths which kinda dulle dout the flow at times..

Final vote: cant beleive i am gonna say this but im goin with LOKOLIKA..he had an overall better flow and his punches were decent and consistant.. he rode the beat, switched a lil bit and stayed o it while droppin punches to both..not bad man.. yall to did ok but modfe you really gotta liven up on the trakc show some feelin like ya care about what ya spittin instead of soundin like ya mom made you do it.. jumar..gettin hype on a beat dont mean being loud.. its probably due to ya messed of soundcard and mic quality, but still it was distorted..and also show different emotions on there.. just think about how ya talk when you guys interact with friens and family.. study how ya voices changes and vocal pitches vary during convo.. study that and try to implement that in ya rap...keep it up

mode:

lol... laughin at the beat, i got this shit.. i was gonna use it before, lol... anyway, flow's choppy yo.... delivery needs work... ya need to put more emotion into it... ya sound monotone... makes ya lines seem weak... ya gotta make ya punchlines stand out... ya lyrics were aight... didn't catch too many hard punches tho... only thing i can remember that kinda stood out was a line about "jumar recyclin rhymes, n' u was a trash compactor"... decent punch... but ya need to come harder... get more personal... but i think the main thing is workin on your flow and delivery.... elevate n' stay up bro..

Loco lika:

oooo, like the beat... it's bangin... liking how ya start off... flow's nice, gettin better... delivery's much better... soundin pretty good, tho i still can't get over the accent... lol, it makes me laugh... sorry yo.. anyway.. "Tina Turner" line was nice... "this kids more annoyin than dj clues mixtapes".. LMFAO... nice son, that shit was funny... ya had some nice punches... lix were pretty nice... couldn't understand some lines cuz a the accent tho... but nice drop... lets see wut jumar gots...

Jumar:

beat's nice... flow's pretty good, but kinda off beat here n' there.... delivery's pretty decent... opener's pretty good... lix are decent... some played concepts... too much dick, gay, nut talk... punches were aight, but ya need to be more creative... lol.. JC Beats Production, lol, kid has nice beats tho... yup, like this beat, JC bangs it out... flow's better, delivery's better too... u flowin to this beat a lot better... punches are better, a few nice personals, but still not hard enuff... had some good ideas, but ain't come out as good as they coulda been... n' still, had some faggot shit in there.. ain't feelin that... yeah, quality's a lot worse... my comps gettin fucked too... i'ma pick up a new pc soon and get my boy to pick out a soundcard fa me... hopefully i can drop some real ish than... anyway.. he came decent, but ya gotta be more creative wit the pen...

vote: Loco Lika takes this one... he came wit the nicest punches, and flowed the best in my opinion (and had the nicest beat )... Jumar 2nd, Mode last...

peace.

aight.........

Mode -
It's been said before and I hate ta do it, but I have to say it again......ya flows are pretty monotone. I thought opening lines didn't hit as hard as they should've. A couple lines were pretty solid....closer was decent. Wait so was this a straight freestyle?? If it was, there were some solid punches.....especially cuz I thought you started emceein pretty recently.

Loco Lika -
Overall I thought you had a good beat for this battle. Flow was on beat. I personally think the Ike/Tina Turner is pretty played out, but still a pretty solid hit. I think the DJ Clue's Mixtapes line was a hilarious cuz I hate those shits. Yeah, overall I thought it was a well put together battle verse. I was just wonderin, what did you say here (it's toward the beginnin):
Quote:
I'm fuckin with ya brain, got you strapped by ya jackets/
Jumar said I'm lame................
???

Jumar -
I hate ta say it but your fried soundcard did detract from ya verse cuz it made ya verses alot less clear. You had some solid punches. I like some of the flow and delivery on the punches although there were some places that I thought you fell off the beat like you were anticipating it. Overall though, this was a pretty solid track and I liked the two beats.

I'ma have ta say that i thought loco had the most on point battle track outta everybody. Mode yours was just too lackin on the punches and emotion. Jumar, I thought you had some good punches and ideas set up.......flow was off at some parts and I think it mighta been better just to make one verse just ta rip both cats so you could hit 'em with hard punches left 'n right. So........

My Vote: Loco Lika

Peace
