Question inner knuckles problem - 05-07-2007, 12:52 PM

Ok so i just started to bboy serously, and im doing alot of footwork drills...the problem is that i started not to palm but use my inner knuckles, and be on the balls of my feet, everything looks alot better now but when i dont palm my inner knuckles skin gets a bit scraped ( dono how to say it, not good at english) and hurts like hell. is it normal for the beginning or im doing something wrong?

No it's normal, especially if you're doing ti on a harder surface. Don't worry you'll get used to it just keep practicing and let your inner knuckles heal for a day or 2 when they hurt.

Skin gets scraped all the time when you do footwork.
But sometimes you just have to change the surface you're practicing on.
Basically just keep working at it until you build some calluses and tougher skin.

yeah i used to getl ike blister on blister on blister but now its just a callouse and its freggin rock hard it doesn't hurt anymore so just keep doing it

Yeah I had this problem too, where like chunks of my skin would like fall off randomly when I would go at it to the extreme. But basically practice until it starts to hurt, and then rest for like a day or two until it stops hurting, and then repeat. Over time the rest periods will be shorter and the skin will get hard as hell. I still can't do long footwork sessions without my skin getting totally annhilated, but it's a lot better since I first started. gl
