My friends just starting, and we taught him to 6 step. However, he does them crouching, with his hands in front of his feet, as if he's going to do a helicopter. Is this good or bad for footwork, and what problems could it present? Should I tell him to bring his hands back?

ive alwayz heard it better to do it from a crouch position because it is easier to transition that way. i learned my foot work starting from push up but when i teac others from crouching cause ive heard its better idk what ever seems most confertable for u i guess.

the only thing he should be crounching for is to swing in the 4th step....
if u mean by keeping ur ass and upper body up while doing footwork- yes i do think he got the right idea

well i dunno teach him the right way and try to get him to do it that way. but i think crouching would be easier to get it from than having your butt sag and your heels on the floor.

i have to see him do it again because i think he's bent over too much to the front, like he can probably do a six step and not have to lift a hand.
