Jackhammer warning -
01-02-2004, 02:57 AM
Just a fare warning...
jackhammers are not the best thing for your wrist lol, i doubt the wrist was meant to have so much weight on it... i have been doing jackhammers for a while... i can pull them off no prob but you pretty much will still have wrist pain here and there... i dunno if its because i do them backwards or what ... cause i can do 20+ hops if i feel like it but i still get wrist pains if i do them too much... |

Firstly, don't count hops; count rounds. And secondly, it takes no wrist strength to DO jackhammers. Yea you heard me, ZERO wrist strength or flexibility is required to do jackhammers. HOWEVER, it's good insurance to exercise your wrists to build the strength and flexibility when you mess up. If you do jackhammers properly, your forearm should be perpendicular to the ground and you should be hopping off the bottom part of your hand. This shouldn't put much pressure on your wrist. Hope that makes sense for you.

hey dude, try to read his line again, he isnt talking about wrist strength but about the shocks his wrist is getting, those shox litterly crush little by little ur bone, my doc told me, but he also told me when u practice ur wrists enough they become more flexible, so they can addept to it, but i dont like doing jackhammer anymore now, i crushed my wrist on 4 different places cuz my body spinned and my hand stayed on the floor
, so im preffer crickets atm ![]() |

eh no offense president, but i think i know jackhammers just as well as you... i dont count rounds because i have no idea how many rounds i do since its kinda hard to keep track when you're doing the particular move. Saying jackhammers dont have any effect on your wrist is totally false, thats like saying headspins dont have any effect on your head... i would know for both

Yea, I see how you can count pumps while you're doing them, cuz I do that too. It helps me keep track of how many I've done and makes sure that I don't do too much otherwise people will get bored. It doesn't really matter, it's just your preference. I can pound my wrist all day long, but it's not gonna hurt my wrist if I pound it in the right place. And when you do jackhammers, ALL your weight is never taken up by your wrist. Your momentum is supposed to take most of the weight off, which is why you do crickets first.
