Turtle Help Please w/ Clip - 12-14-2003, 08:02 PM

Ok, I have been practicing turtles for like two months. I got them to a decentness I guess, but I still can't get them any better.

What I really just want to know is what I should do to get them better.

You got the motion. Try positioning your legs differently, and just play around with that. And work on speed, it comes with practice and how fast you can switch your hands around and shift weight. Good luck.

I also had the same prob about 3 months ago when i started doing them.... try putting your hands closer in towards ur gut and make sure yooh got enough strength in ur abs to hold urself up and while ur spinning try to switch weight as slightly as possible to make the effect of the float better.

Try swinging your lower body more. You're using your arms a lot, and turtles is all about the weight transition. For your kind of turtles, the harder you swing your lower body onto the arm you're switching to, the faster you'll get to spin around.

So try using your lower body as well to help you with the speed and momentum.
